Depression and women are closely related to each other. Depression in women is undeniable. Depression as a disease affects almost 10 percent of women.
It hampers the social, personal and professional life of women. Women tend to suffer from depression twice as more as their men counterpart. my councelor thinks i need to go on anti-depressants even though i am pregnant. he says that prozac is safe and a few others are safe. i just don’t know though. i know i need something… i am a complete mess most days. but i am fearful for my baby.
i am just trying to get responses from women who have actually gave birth after being on anti-depressants to get an idea of whether i should or shouldn’t get on some to help me out.

Anxiety attacks during pregnancy are a very common occurrence for a number of women. Pregnancy can be stressful and especially difficult if you are nervous, anxious, highly strung, tense, and sensitive or already suffer from anxiety attacks. Often it is the excitement of the baby that brings on anxiety attacks. They can also be brought on when a woman was not expecting to get pregnant and finds herself in that situation. Other times, anxiety attacks are brought on because the woman just becomes worried with the whole pregnancy in general.
It can be hard not to experience anxiety attacks during pregnancy. If a woman has already experienced one high risk pregnancy before, then there is a chance that she is going to expect this pregnancy to be the same. If it is a first pregnancy, the expectant mother is also most likely going to experience a good bit of anxiety about the labour and birth. She will have issues about being a good mother, overall health concerns and in some cases even financial concerns. Also, those who have suffered miscarriages are especially prone to anxiety attacks, for obvious reasons.

Pregnancy can be a very stressful and emotional time, for most mothers.
Your body is changing very quickly, your hormones are out of control, and you feel the burden of parental responsibility starting to take hold.
You may feel like it is easier to go to bed and sleep through the next nine months. However, this is probably just depression starting to set in.

I know that hormones are going crazy and its normal to have mood swings and highs and lows, but if depression is the only mood and it stays for weeks without getting better is that normal? I’m 10 weeks pregnant and have suffered depression in the past. What can I do to make myself feel better? Is there anything safe to take for this?

Postnatal depression is relatively common, when a new mother finds herself miserable and unhappy following the birth of her baby, often due to raging hormones. Usually the depression lifts within a few days, weeks or months, although in some cases professional help is needed.
Occasionally, however, expectant mothers start to feel depressed before the baby is born, a feeling made much worse as pregnancy is a time in a woman’s life when the whole world expects her to feel happy, cheerful and excited. While it may sound bizarre, depression during pregnancy is much more common than you might think, affecting an estimated 10 – 20 percent of all future moms.

Hi everyone. I am 16 weeks pregnant and feeling very depressed. My fiance has been working a lot more so that we can save extra money for our baby, i really appreciate everything he is doing for our family but i feel totally depressed. I have a lot happening right now. My sister just moved 600 miles away and I feel very sad about that. I hate being alone and I know that my baby is here with me but I feel so alone today. I miss him, he is at work. He worked yesterday and today and my sister just moved yesterday. I am so lonely I dont know what to do. Did anyone else go through this during pregnancy? I feel depressed and I dont want this stress to harm the baby. I know stress is a bad that i can do to my baby and thats making me feel guilty also. If anyone has any nice advice I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
I just dont know what to do with myself, it seems as though everyone is busy today. I have nobody to go do anything with. I am just bored to death and that is making me feel more depresed. Can anyone please help? Should I be worried or talk to the doctor about this? thanks…
my fiance and I have an amazing relationship, he is very caring and understanding and we love each other so much. I dont understand why that person said something so rude =[
