At what point is pregnancy hormones considered to be ante-natal depression?
Most people think wobbly/tearful pregnant ladies are just “hormonal”, which for most is true but at what point is it past hormones and is considered post-natal depression?
Has anyone here been diagnosed with ante-natal depression?
Sorry i meant antenatal, not postnatal

My sister was diagnosed with antenatal depression about 8 weeks into her pregnancy. It is definitely different from hormonal tearfulness or getting emotional over trivialities. The depression is constant, severe, and often accompanied by feelings of despair, guilt or self-blame.
Women with antenatal depression don’t necessarily sit around crying all day – they may feel numb or feel as if they have no connection with reality. They may have irrational fears, such as believing that there is something wrong with their baby, even though every test shows the pregnancy to be progressing normally.
You’re more likely to experience antenatal depression if you already have a history of depression.
