Going through the various Pregnancy Stages is a pleasure for each and every woman, since many believe pregnancy enhances her womanhood. Whenever a woman becomes pregnant, she becomes overwhelmed by the thought of bringing a new life to the world.

Pregnancy is the privilege of experiencing one of the best miracles of God. Watch and feel your little angel grow inside you, your fetus week by week, month by month, and wait eagerly for the day to hold a new life in your hands.

The Various Pregnancy StagesThe pregnancy stages, which tell you about the growth of your child, are in itself a memorable journey. But you need to know exactly what each trimester holds in store for you and your baby. • The first trimester which extends from 0-12 weeks will introduce several changes in your body. You will experience developments like nausea, fatigue, backaches, vomiting, mood swings, weight gain, and breast changes like tenderness, swelling, and enlargement. You may also experience increased heart rate, food cravings, leg cramps, frequency of urination, and more. But don’t you worry; these occurrences are just normal and not a cause of concern. In fact, to look at the brighter side, this first one of the three pregnancy stages will let you experience your child’s heartbeat, the formation of his/her face and various vital organs, and the wonder of experiencing the growth of your fetus week through week.• The second trimester will introduce new pains and new excitements during the 13-28 weeks of your pregnancy. The new pains may range from stretch marks, skin changes, protruding belly making your pregnant state visible, morning sickness, abdominal and lower back pain, increase in urination frequency due to the need to relieve pressure on the bladder, shortness of breath, difficulty in sleeping, itching, heartburn, constipation among others. The exciting part about this pregnant period is the growth of your child’s fingers, toes, eyelashes and eyebrows. You may even feel its movement around the fifth month. The end of this trimester is a happy ending as the heart, lungs and kidneys of the child have been formed.• And finally, the time you had been eagerly waiting for- the third trimester. This pregnancy stage is mostly spent in anxious anticipation. You will still be undergoing some distress though, in the form of heartburn, swelling (especially in the ankles, finger and face), feeling overheated, increase in basal metabolic rate, increased pressure on bladder, breast tenderness, weight gain, sleeping troubles, fatigue, Braxton hicks contradictions (false labour). Besides these, you will notice that coarse hair will grow at an increased rate on your arms, legs and face. This hair will disappear within six months of your child’s birth. In the third trimester, the baby continues to grow as it shifts into its birth position. The baby will move lower down the abdomen, thereby reducing the pressure and making it easier for you to breathe. Be positive and enjoy these pregnancy stages!

Pregnancy is the most beautiful phase in a woman’s life. This is the time when she goes to ocean of feelings. Mood swings is the most common thing in pregnancy because there are so many things which a woman has to face during her pregnancy. Happiness, irritation, pain, responsibility, etc. are few things which she will feel. Along with this she has to take lots of care during the pregnancy. Good food along with proper exercise will make her baby strong and keep her healthy during the phase.

It is very important to stay be active during pregnancy. Normally, doctors also suggest a pregnant lady to do few exercises which are good for the mother as well as the baby. Yoga is something which is preferred at the most during pregnancy. There are lots of benefits that a woman will avail by practicing yoga asanas in pregnancy. But there are few specific exercises only which are good for pregnant women. There are few yoga asanas in pregnancy which can be very hazardous for the baby and the mother. Some of the exercises which a woman should avoid during her pregnancy are mentioned below.

A pregnant woman should avoid exercises with inversion pose in yoga. Exercises like headstands or in this case upward bow are just not for women who are pregnant. Camel pose is very hazardous along with camel pose. Downward dog pose should not be preferred by a woman during her pregnancy.

Yoga asanas in pregnancy should be done very carefully. Balancing is one thing which should be avoided strictly during pregnancy. A tiny misbalance can lead to major complications during the pregnancy. So any exercise which needs balancing is not good during pregnancy. It will increase the risk of falling down or may also lead to miscarriage of the baby.

Yoga asanas in pregnancy should be chosen which are simple to do without much of twisting and turning. Twisting the body is not possible in pregnancy. Experts will also not suggest you exercise which includes lying on the floor. It might hurt the baby in many cases.

These are certain types of yoga asanas in pregnancy which should be avoided. During pregnancy all the exercises are done in standing position only. Also it is important to perform all exercises slowly with proper and deep breathing. Therefore a woman has to be very careful while performing yoga asanas in pregnancy.

Are you an expecting mother or father and want to know more about more about conception to the lateral changes of pregnancy cycle? Quench your thirst here and relax.

Pregnancy could be termed as a symbol of existence. When the female gamete merges with the male gamete, pregnancy dawns in. This happens with all the female species present on the earth.

Or we can say that pregnancy is referred to the state when female body is carrying one or even more offspring in the uterus. The offspring is known as an embryo or fetus. The pregnancy period spans from conception to childbirth and lasts for 40 weeks.

As fertilization occurs 14 days prior to the expected missed period and in previously normal cycle of 28 days duration, it is about 14 days after the first day of the period. Thus, the true gestation period is to be calculated by subtracting 14 days from 280 days i.e. 266 days. This is called fertilization or ovulate age.

Women who want to become pregnant must keep a check on ovulation. For that very purpose, many online tools such as an ovulation calendar have come to the front. Get advice on having a healthy pregnancy, find out what’s going on with your own body, and receive tips on getting ready for baby. The duration of pregnancy is calculated by doctors as 10 lunar months or 9 calendar months and 7 days or 280 days or 40 weeks calculated from first day of the last menstrual period. This is called menstrual or gestational age of pregnancy.

A Pregnancy Calendar can be used to follow your baby’s development from conception to birth. The Pregnancy Calendar is divided into three trimesters-

I. First trimester (0-12 weeks)II. Second trimester (13-28 weeks) III. Third trimester/last trimester (29-40 weeks)

All the three trimesters of pregnancy calendar bring various physical and mental changes in an expecting mother to give conclusive evidence of pregnancy. When these amazing changes and experiences, a mother is blessed with the wonderful gift of God to her in the shape of a newly born baby!

Important Pregnancy Symptoms

Some common symptoms in first trimester are morning sickness, constipation, and mood swings. The second trimester includes weight gain and swelling of feet. The third semester shows movement of fetus even from outside.

There happen to be various pregnancy stages. It’s better to know all the stages because different precautions need to be taken in various stages of it. This takes place after a sexual intercourse between the opposite sexes of the same specie. The same happens with the human beings, too. However, there are other options of child birth with the facilitation of medical science, as well. This must be handled with prudent care.

Some Not-to-be-neglected Pregnancy Symptoms

The pregnancy symptoms not to be ignored are severe headaches that last for a long duration, fever which is not from flu or cold symptoms, severe vomiting, light or heavy bleeding, and burning feeling while urinating.

The joyful time of pregnancy demands immense care of every expecting woman.

Most women who have abortions feel that the procedure is not hurting their embryo if the abortion is by the end of the first trimester or within the first three months of pregnancy. They claim that their baby is “not really a baby yet.” However, from my clairvoyant observations, embryos live primitive lives from the beginning of their existence.

With so many people discussing motherhood and with so much of advice being handed around by experienced mothers, it is very natural that the first time mother-to-be ends up with a confused jumble of ideas, especially where events occurring during the first month of pregnancy are concerned!

The knowledge of many women of their pregnancy may delay for several weeks and some might notice their pregnancy after the first month! So the pattern of your diet might be as it was in the past. Make sure to follow a healthy and balanced diet during the first month of pregnancy and the following months to ensure good health for you and the fetus, during the months of pregnancy and infancy, too.

Many women go through the pain of swollen breasts and headiness. Along comes loads of mood swings situations wherein the pregnant woman is unable to understand the reason herself for her actions and behavior. As far as physical appearance goes, there is not much difference or change in it.

Your breasts will get bigger, often before your period is missed and they will be tender to the touch. You might notice your bra is starting to feel a little tighter than normal. Your nipples will enlarge, become darker in colour and might be sore. You might experience itchiness or your breasts might feel lumpy.

Some mothers are stressed easily in this stage. The growing belly drastically changes a woman’s appearance, sometimes resulting with unsightly stretch marks. For some it causes insecurity with their physical looks. Others take it lightly, as a normal occurrence in pregnancy.

You probably won’t see your doctor during the first month of pregnancy. Some women do not get in until they are three months along unless they are considered high risk. If a miscarriage is going to occur, it happens in the first three months, and there is often nothing that can be done to prevent it and if it is to occur, usually it is for a good reason.

Most women suffer from varying degrees of nausea, the so-called ‘morning sickness’. Eating little and often can be helpful, especially for those people who get it during every waking hour, as it can be worse when the stomach is empty. Fatigue may also start to become a problem, partly because the mother’s body is preoccupied with growing a new human being, and partly due to hormones.

During your first trimester, you are likely facing the issue of morning sickness, which occurs due to major hormonal changes as your body accommodates itself to pregnancy. The best remedy for nausea is ginger, sliced up and boiled to make a tea.

Experiencing mood swings and emotional shifts by pregnant women, its natural to feel doubt, fear and anxiety about the pregnancy, child birth along with the happiness, excitement during the anticipation of little one.

Surprised with the outcome, you abruptly told your husband about this news soon after having a home pregnancy test in one early morning. Afterward, both of you were so contented that you hugged each other for minutes while tears were dropping on your cheek.

During his first two weeks of life, a baby usually lacks the energy to do more than sleep and eat. When the baby is two weeks old, he begins to lie awake for longer period of time eager for something to play with. A baby usually plays by sucking something.

It so happens that initially you confuse the symptoms of pregnancy with having flu or working women feel they are fatigued, but dear pretty ladies, this is not flu and you being pregnant can be very much true. If you experiencing some of these symptoms then, dear woman you are pregnant!

Missed Menstrual Period:

Most important symptom of pregnancy. A missed menstrual cycle is a first sign of pregnancy. This is first indication of conception being occurred.

Morning Sickness:

This is the most common symptoms faced by most of the pregnant women. Most women said that they experienced nausea first then any other symptoms that can be even two weeks before an expected monthly cycle. You feel like eating crackers in bed. Eat smaller meals instead of larger meals, this can help with nausea.

Tender Breast:

Tender swollen breast, even enlarged breast is symptom of pregnancy. Though tender breast is sign of impending sign of menstrual cycle, enlarged breast is the sign with pregnancy. You feel the breast to be sore and swollen, and have a tingling sensation; these are good symptoms of pregnancy. As pregnancy progress areolas will darken and swell.

Fatigue:

Getting tired easily and feeling of fatigue is the indicator of pregnancy, with other symptoms present. Taking nap can help pregnant woman during normal daily activities.

Frequent Urination:

After conception, between six to eight weeks out, there is increase urge for urination which is also a good symptom of pregnancy.

Mood swings:

This is the one, where others have to take the blunt of your pregnancy. Your fatigue and tiredness makes you go crazy at times, feelings of euphoria followed by depression or sadness such emotional changes are experienced.

Implantation bleeding:

Implantation bleeding occurs when the fertilized egg implants itself into the uterine wall; this process occurs 6-12 days after conception and may be accompanied by light spotting and cramps.

Pregnancy Headaches:

Headaches, that is tolerable, an early pregnancy symptom. If occur take quick nap and avoid taking pain killers but if Preeclampsia or toxemia is happening with headache then this can be dangerous to a pregnant woman. If you are pregnant and you have this symptom, be sure to go to your health care provider immediately.

Light Headedness:

This is can be light headedness or even actual fainting.

Constipation:

This is experienced, because of hormonal changes affecting the digestive system. Its better to drink loads of water and even exercising can help.

Some early symptoms of pregnancy do begin even before a missed period. These symptoms include flu like symptoms, fatigue, headache, implantation bleeding, mood swings, nausea, and changes in your breasts, frequent urination, and odd food cravings. As some of these symptoms mimic pre-menstrual symptoms, don’t get confused and as these symptoms can occur a few days after conception occurs. So it’s better to get yourself a pregnancy test done, for you to confirm your pregnancy as early as possible so that you can begin your prenatal care. The early prenatal care is most important to the health of your baby and also for yourself during the time of pregnancy. As you begin to notice any early Pregnancy symptoms, take a test as soon as you can and have the test confirmed by your physician. Remember to stay relaxed during pregnancy, and try to keep your stress levels down.

A missed period is the most obvious pregnancy symptoms. A missed period indicates that one is on its second to third week of its pregnancy. Some women might experience abnormal period which is short period or a period which is lighter than normal.

One of the early pregnancy symptoms are fainting or the feeling of dizziness. Women at this time might feel light headed after walking few distance or while climbing stairs. This happens because the uterus walls swells compressing arteries of the legs which ultimately cause the blood sugar level to drop.

Extreme fatigue, nausea, mood swing and flu like symptoms are also sign of pregnancy. Early in their pregnancy women feel extremely exhausted which can be followed by the feeling of vomiting or queasiness known as morning sickness but many women might experience it in evening or night. Frequent urination which is due to the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin Hormone is produced by the developing embryo is also a sign of pregnancy. Mood swings are quite severe during pregnancy and is similar to what a women experiences as pre menstrual syndrome.

Pregnancy symptoms include altered sense of taste. An equally common symptom is loathing towards a particular food. One might even develop a strong dislike against a past food craving. These are not sure sign of pregnancy and one must not rely on them totally. This happens mostly due to the estrogen hormone present in women’s body.

Several hormonal changes in the body can bring about digestive problem during pregnancy. The hormone produced in the body at this time slows down bowel movement to absorb as much as essential nutrient in the body. It is advised by the doctors to take smaller but frequent meals. Slower emptying of stomach may also cause acidity leading to heartburn.

Early pregnancy symptoms show breast tenderness and swollenness. Since women breast plays an important role after childbirth, the body prepares itself for breastfeeding. Nipples might be much more sensitive and the skin around the nipple known as areola darkens.

Some other physical changes are back pain, cramps and high body temperature. Lower back pain can be due to several reasons .Firstly it can be because of the weights gain during pregnancy. Secondly it can be lack of proper sleep during night since the womb keeps pulling on the muscle making one feel uncomfortable while sleeping. It is best advised to use maternity pillow during pregnancy.

A less known fact for many is implantation bleeding .Implantation bleeding is caused by fertilized egg when it tries to implant itself in uterus.

Gaining weight is one of the unavoidable pregnancy symptoms. To make sure one is pregnant its best to take a pregnancy test. Pregnancy test gives better result after at least two days of missed periods and its advised to take minimum two pregnancy tests.

It is of utmost importance for a woman to detect pregnancy as early as possible for prenatal care. It is healthy for both the mother and her baby.

        <html >

Pregnancy and birth are two life-changing events that are bound
to bring out both the best and worse in any woman. Some women report
being more cheerful and patient, while others are as grouchy as a
grizzly bear. One thing is for certain- most women experience moods
swings that are equivalent to a roller coaster ride during pregnancy and
during the initial months after birth!

These mood changes are caused by the hormonal changes in your body
during this crucial phrase. Your body starts producing more progesterone
and oestrogen, two hormones that helps develop your growing foetus and
gives you a healthy pregnancy.

However, the extra doses of these hormones can interfere with your
feelings – one minute you may be smiling and cheerful, and the next
minute you may be shouting or snapping at everyone around. You will find
yourself easily irritated, for instance, when the air-conditioner
temperature rises, the phone line doesn’t work or when your husband
turns up a few minutes late.

Apart from the hormonal changes, you may also have problems with
nausea, fatigue, backaches. Coupled with fears about your impending
birth, whether becoming a mother will affect your career and how you
will need to change your lifestyle, there is little wonder that you feel
more jittery than usual!

The good news is that your emotional turbulence usually gets better
once baby is born. You’ll be your usual lovable self again once you and
baby have settled down to a comfortable routine of feeding, bathing,
nappy-changing, sleeping and playing (not necessarily in that order!).

The tough part is that your family, mainly your spouse and other
children will have to endure your mood changes! Although you can rightly
say it’s the hormones that are turning you into a moody monster, it can
be hard for them to understand especially if they have not been through
it before.

Fortunately there are ways to help regulate the mood swings so that they don’t get out of control. Try these tips:

IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN, you might find it
tiring having to take care of them and your pregnant self. Get help from
your spouse or domestic helper, first by explaining that your pregnancy
is making it difficult for you to cope with your usual duties.
WITH OLDER CHILDREN, explain why you are unable to
join them for sports or other strenuous activities like before and
promise that you will make up for lost time once baby comes.
WHEN YOU FEEL RISING ANGER, retreat from the room
and take some deep breaths to calm down. This works well whether you’re
at home, at the office or at your in-law’s house!
GET ENOUGH REST AND SLEEP to lessen the mood
swings. If your backaches makes it difficult for you to fall asleep, get
your spouse for a gentle back rub. Taking a glass of milk also helps
you sleep better.
LEARN RELAXATION EXERCISES such as meditation and
visualization. Imagine bringing baby home, with everyone happily waiting
for your arrival, ooh-in and aah-ing when they see your bundle joy.
AT WORK, your sudden (and sometimes irrational)
outbursts might annoy and startle your colleagues or staff. Make it a
point to apologise later when you’ve calmed down so that they won’t take
your outbursts personally.
SLOW DOWN if you have a hectic lifestyle. Take time
off work or delegate so that you can have more time for yourself.
Listen to some relaxing music, read a book or take a slow leisurely walk
when you feel your nerves being wrangled.
TAKE A WARM SHOWER at night before bedtime to relax but avoid long hot baths that can be harmful for your baby.
MAKE TIME TO EXERCISE as it helps build stamina for
the labour process later. Exercise also releases feel-good hormones
called endorphins, which helps regulate mood and makes you a glowing,
not a growling mommy!
WATCH YOUR DIET by avoiding caffeinated drinks and
foods that are high in sugar and monosodium glutamate (MSG), as they
tend to make you feel more tense.
TAKE REGULAR MEALS, as skipping a meal will lower your metabolic rate. Hunger makes you edgy and snappy.
SHARE YOUR FEELINGS with someone you trust such as
your spouse, sister, mother or best friend. Whether it’s something small
such as having swollen hands and feet or a fear that your baby may not
be growing well, talking it over with someone will release tension and
help you see the problem in a different perspective. Cry it out if you
have to.
LOOK GOOD to feel good. Shop for pretty maternity
clothes that make you feel more confident about your new life adventure
as a mommy. It’s hard to feel happy when you’ve outgrown all your
existing clothes and feel uncomfortable about meeting people with a
protruding abdomen.
BE KNOWLEDGEABLE about pregnancy and birth. Knowing
what to expect lowers anxiety levels and makes you less likely to be
irritated by the changes in your body. Apart from books, websites and
information brochures, talk to experienced moms who can share a wealth
of knowledge with you!
IF YOU SUSPECT YOU’RE DEPRESSED, speak to your
doctor about it as it can affect the way you handle the pregnancy and
birth. The classic symptoms of depression are extreme sadness,
difficulty sleeping, eating, concentrating, or making decisions. You
also appear to lose interest in work and play. Untreated ante-natal
depression also may lead to post-natal depression.

Mood swings are conditions when a person experiences a drastic change in emotion within a span of few hours. Someone who suffers from this problem, in one moment feels very happy and the next moment is suddenly upset , irritated, and downright hostile .

Studies have shown that women experience mood swings twice as many as men. This is not surprising because many mood swings are the effect of premenstrual syndrome, pregnancy, menopause, hypothyroidism and other biological problems. Studies also show that mood swings in women tend to be longer and more manic. This article will explain some tips on how to deal with mood swings especially in women :

Here the tips:

First of all, You should build positive attitude towards life. Try to reduce stress from your life. Find healthier ways of distressing your mind and body – such as jogging, yoga, and some light exercises like swimming, dancing and brisk walk. Develop a reading habit. Music also helps to quiet the mind during stressful. Take a diet that is full of nutrition as well as gentle on your body. Take a moment to pause when you’re getting mood swing. Take time to try breathing deeply and focus on something in the present such as the sound of your breathing or the feeling of the wind on your skin. By focusing your attention on something sensory and in the moment you take your mind away from negative thoughts and feelings and you can more easily let this negativity go. Try to work out any emotional tension that you may be holding on to. So we often totally ignore that something is actually worrying us until we sit down and confront the real reason that we keep blowing up over the little things. Try talking out some of these emotions with your family or a trusted friend . Let them know what you’re going through. If they understand what it is that causes you to behave in a certain manner, they will be less likely to be offended or confused. They could also offer invaluable emotional support, something you will find important while you’re trying to recover. Eat regular meals and try to consume slow energy releasing foods such as bean, brown rice, oats and whole grain breads. Avoid food that contains fast release carbohydrates or highly refined foods, alcohol, caffeine and excessive sugar.

We’ll have to make certain small sacrifices but you’ll be glad to know that most of the time, these are temporary. If you’re coping with mood swings, be ready for its challenges. Some days it can be tough and on some days it can be nearly impossible but it is still manageable.

Ladies who have been pregnant… what signs did you show at 2 months? I’m 2 months pregnant and just found out, because I haven’t shown many signs until about a week ago… now it’s full on… I’m noticing the baby bump, and I feel nauseous, and I’m noticing a lot of mood swings. I snap at my husband, Patrick, a lot, but immediately feel bad, because he never does anything but help me out and he’s just the sweetest. Also, I’ve had a bit of morning sickness, but not much, and I’m so tired. Is this all normal at two months? Are the mood swings most likely going to get worse? I feel bad, because it’s causing my husband a lot of stress… He gets the brunt of it, and I can see it in his eyes when I snap… He’s already freaking out (He’s excited, of course, but super nervous.), and I feel like I’m makin g it worse. In your experiences, how were the mood swings during your pregnancy? Do they get worse??

Ever since I’ve been pregnant my mood swings and attitude has been through the roof. My boyfriend says I am bitching at him alot and its making him mad. I never was this bitchcy before I was pregnant but now Im a monster. Everytime I get mad at him he gets mad at me also. I told him that he needs to cooperate with me, but he says he’s not used to this. We dont live together right now, so when we argue its over the phone. When we get together we are very happy. We just cant stop arguing over the phone. How did your significant other handle your mood swings? I dont want him to get fed up and leave me. How should this be handled?
Also, we argue about stupid things. How did you get your significant other to deal with your mood swings?

I’m 25 weeks and up until maybe 23 weeks I never experienced mood swings (although I had other not so fun pregnancy symptoms) and my moods were always level. Since then I have them all the time! I feel so ridiculous because the majority of the time I don’t even know why I am feeling so crazy or what is bothering me. It’s like I just can’t pinpoint my emotions lol.. So is this just a taste of what’s to come? Or for some of you ladies did your moods get better in third tri?

My husband and I recently found out we were pregnant and shortly after that we got married. I have always loved him and always thought we were ment for each other but recently I am having these feelings of uncertanty. I am not sure if I want to stay married to him. Can I really live with him my whole life? I also feel a lot of resentment towards him and recently everything he does gets on my nerves. Is this a normal pragnancy feeling or am I really having feelings of not wanting to be married? It seems a little extreem but I do love him. But up until now I am feeling an estranged relationship with him and I am questioning the level of our relationship and hurting for my freedom back. I hope this is normal because I really want and pray for this to work out. We are 8 weeks along. Someone please help me!
