Do I need blood tests to be prescribed anti depressants and if so will they show that I am pregnant?
I am pregnant and feeling extremley depressed about some other things going on, no relation to the pregnancy, however I am thinking about going to the doctor and asking about anti depressants, will I need a blood test and if so will it show that I am pregnant.

no you don’t need a blood test, but it would show that you are pregnant. Its not advisable to take them when your pregnant though.
no, u won’t need a blood test. ive been tested for depression, and its just a whole bunch of questions that they ask u. like how ur eating and sleeping and stuff. but u should probably tell them that ur pregnant. cuz idk if the anti-depressants will hurt the baby, but it might.
You don’t need blood tests unless they suspect you might have some other health issues, like liver or kidneys. If you want to keep this child, seek some counseling, not anti-depressants. If you are worried and stressed, that could lead to miscarriage, months 1,2,3 and 7 are the months that are very delicate in pregnancy.
Youdont need blood tests for antidepressants but tell your Dr that you are pregnant, there are medications on the market that are safe to take while pregnant.
Hi hon:
First of all Congrats on your pregnancy and the upcoming arrival of your little bundle of joy!!!!
That being said, lemme tell ya I can totally identify with what you are saying. With my second pregnancy I was extremely depressed…I had just been through the delivery/labour from HELL and was pregnant again…13 months apart my sons…I had planned waiting a few years and then doing it again but didn’t work that way….fertile devils that we were my ex and I…lol
As the pregnancy went on and I got more and more depressed and finally spoke to my doctor about it. He explained it that pregnancy throws your hormones out of whack with all the changes in your body etc…anywho he recommended a vitamin/supplement that I could safely take while pregnant and it did make a difference…I can’t remember the name of it but I think what really made the most difference was him listening to me and assuring me that what I felt was normal and that I was not crazy…lol
So ultimately I think you should talk to your doctor and be honest about what you are feeling…he/she will know what to do for you.
Good luck to you and enjoy your pregnancy…it is after all the greatest miracle ever…when you really think about it.
