i have panic disorder and i take klodipin, cymbalta, and trazodone.
trazadone is for sleep and cymbalta for depression and balancing my seritonin. klodipin is and anti anxiety and calms my panic attacks. these medications work for me and i belive in the past i never got pregnant was because the stress my body indured from panic attacks everyday. now that my chimicals are balanced i feel maybe i will also become more firtile. is that true or could these medications cause infirtililty? are they safe to take during pregnancy? and now that im and happy and back on track will cause me to be able to get pregnant on theses medications? what should i watch for while trying to conceive on meds?

my doctor is letting me take effexor. do some research online, but don’t freak out when you see something that says it can cause heart defects. stay calm and read lots of websites or books. talk to your obgyn.

says risk factor is B, which is a step better than effexor which is C.

Cymbalta has a category risk of C. C basically means there’s not enough studies to say
i dont know if they will able you to get pregnant but if you do end up conceving you may have to stop taking them it all depends on what youre ob/gyn says
i would go to a OBGYN and talk about all you question and see what they have to say i wouldn’ask just any one they could be wrong then something can happen to your baby good luck
All of these meds carry risks.
The risk is your baby will be born with a birth defect.
Some of them are more dangerous than others. I don’t know about those ones in particular, but you can research them online and you should also talk to a qualified obstetrician. Not strangers online.
Ideally, you should be medication-free when trying to conceive to eliminate the possibility of medication-related birth defects.
I’m not sure about those specific meds, but some are safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, drug companies will normally say that none are safe for legal reasons. Talk to your ob/gyn, but if he/she just looks it up in a drug reference book, the answer you get may not be accurate. There are some good sources on the net, particularly motherisk.org, based at Toronto Sick Kids hospital.
The only one that I know for sure is not recommended while bf is Paxil; I took Celexa.
It safe to take some medications for these types of problems, generally a seritonin regulating drug is fairly safe they may ask you to go off of it once your in your third trimester so as not to have the baby go through withdrawls when they are born. Might also cause your baby to be smaller. or their lungs not fully developed. It depends greatly on your dose, you could always in stead of going off of them completely try to manage on a lower dose, so you minimize the risks involved. Talk to your doctor about it and get his opinion. I read “the panic free pregnancy” I loved this book for honest uptodate information. Dont worry about it to much. Good luck!!
