I have anxiety, and Im about six weeks along. This is my first pregnancy, and while it was not planned, I am very worried about miscarriage. Is there any words of advice to ease my mind about this constant worry of mine? I went in last week and my levels were increasing the way they were supposed to, Im just very worried something is going to happen. Has anyone else experienced this constant worry? How did you deal with that?

In the past I have been prone to depression but I can’t imagine getting it after the baby is here. My husband and I are SO happy and excited about this baby! I won’t be sad about losing attention (as I’ve heard others say they were) because I actually don’t like all the attention being pregnant has brought, I’m just so excited about this baby! Do I still have a chance of getting PPD? I’m worried about getting it for some reason..

I was just wondering if anyone out there has been diagnosed with (or suspect they have) prenatal depression. I am suffering from this and would appreciate some feedback on what treatment works for you, and what teqhniques you are using to cope.
Some details- I am 25. Have a 4 yo son. Recently moved to a rural farm for hubbys job. 4 months pregnant. No friends or family within a 4 hour drive. Very lonely and secluded. Stay at home mom, NOT by choice, but because we live rural and I can’t find a job here (recent college grad, also)…Anyone else in this situation, feel free to email me.

my councelor thinks i need to go on anti-depressants even though i am pregnant. he says that prozac is safe and a few others are safe. i just don’t know though. i know i need something… i am a complete mess most days. but i am fearful for my baby.
i am just trying to get responses from women who have actually gave birth after being on anti-depressants to get an idea of whether i should or shouldn’t get on some to help me out.

Daily, I’m currently taking 10mg of Paxil for anxiety and 50mg of amitriptyline for migraines. I’ve suffered for so long with both conditions and it took me years to find the right medications to treat them. However, I’d also like to plan to become pregnant. My doctor tells me that while it’s not necessarily recommended, women can have successful pregnancies while taking anit-depression medication. Since I’m a big worrier, I was just hoping that someone out there who has been in this situation can share their story with me.

I currently suffer from generalised anxiety disorder and am in my 22nd week of pregnancy. I’m constantly tense and anxious and find it hard to relax. Although I don’t get panick attacks any more & am sleeping well, I am really worried that my anxiety will harm my baby or something might happen because I am so tense.

I’m just curious if taking depression medication during pregnancy is wise. I’m not pregnant, but when I am, I am scared to go off depression medication because I have severe depression when I’m not on it. I don’t think I could handle 9 months of that.
And how does pregnancy affect those with depression? Anyone?
