Brought to you by: – ) www.AdvancedBaby.com , visit today! At ten weeks and barely the size of a kumquat, your baby is entering the fetal stage of development. His facial features are defined, and his tooth buds are forming. Over the next weeks, his tissues and organs will rapidly grow and mature. The webbing is gone between his fingers and toes, and his nails and fingerprints are developing. Your baby can open and close his fists and curl his toes. Thanks to his developing muscles and reflexes, he’s now moving his limbs and kicking up a storm. If this is your first baby, though, you likely won’t feel his flutters until 18 to 20 weeks. Through translucent skin, his vital organs are visible and functioning, including his growing brain, nervous system, intestines, and liver, which is making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac. The umbilical cord is working hard now. One vein delivers oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to your baby. Two arteries then carry the blood away. Around week 12, the kidneys have begun producing urine, which your baby will soon start excreting into the amniotic fluid. He’ll swallow the fluid, and the process will begin again. By week 14, your baby’s eyes and ears have moved into place, and he can squint, frown, and grimace. You’re now beginning the second trimester of pregnancy, which many women say is when they feel their best.

Stress During Pregnancy

Whenever you learn that you have become pregnant, there could be a wide spectrum of emotions. You might feel: scared, happy, excited, and yes especially stress. So, how does stress during pregnancy affect your term? Truthfully it can have long-standing affects on your baby even after birth.

It can be almost impossible for you to be constantly happy during the entire term of your pregnancy, with hormones battling for your sanity and the feelings of responsibility for a new child. It’s totally fine to have a little case of the baby blues here and there, but always complaining on negative pieces of your life: (for example, finances or your problematic relationships) can only give you more cause for concern during pregnancy.

There is More to Keeping Healthy While Pregnant than Just Food!

Keeping your nutrition in check, and maintaining the health of your new baby are first and foremost on your list of priorities will make gigantic benefits for your newborn-inside & ouside the womb. Your child has a lot to lose or gain from your thoughts and feeling while you are pregnant.

Research has discovered that stress during pregnancy will translate into health problems for your baby later on.Stress during pregnancy can also affect your babys immune system, and also affects their birth weight.

Negative thoughs and low birth weight in newborns has been linked in research, and it also has the ability to alter your childs temperament and neurobehavioral development.

How Do I Stop Stress During Pregnancy?

You may not be able to trick yourself into feeling stress free, but here are my favorite two things that I learned to help relive my stress during pregnancy.

- Exercise. This may feel like more of a burden and stress inducer than release at first. But getting off your butt and going out for a good walk on a beautiful day or doing something active when you feel stress during pregnancy will release those endorphins and will help you feel much better by kicking away your stress during pregnancy.

-Meditation. Pick up a few CDs the next time you are out that help you relax and zone out. Meditation is a awesome way to hit pause on your life, and to really revel in the awesomeness of becoming a mommy. Enjoy the quiet moments while you have them, the little one will not give you any time to meditate once he arrives!

How would you like to find out the best ways to have a perfect pregnancy? The first step would be reading what to eat when pregnant at http://reviewblogforyou.com/pregnancy-nutrition/what-to-eat-while-pregnant for tons more information about keeping you and your baby healthy and happy!

DATELINE: IRVINE, CA… According to Postpartum Support International, one in eight women suffer from a postpartum mood disorder. New dads (and veteran dads) should know the difference between the Baby Blues and Postpartum Depression (PPD). Oftentimes, these disorders go undiagnosed because a new mother’s support system, typically the husband/partner, does not know what to look for and where to go to get help.

Working with more than 200,000 new dads over the past 19 years, Boot Camp for New Dads (bcnd.org), a non-profit orientation program for fathers-to-be, operating in more than 260 hospitals, clinics, schools, fire stations and churches around North America and internationally, advises new fathers to watch for signs of PPD in mom and offers tips on how to recognize it.

Postpartum depression is not selective. It can affect any woman who is pregnant, has had a baby or who has miscarried. It’s important that when new mothers begin to experience such symptoms that they get help immediately. A new mother’s mental health is very important to not only herself but her baby and family. Get professional help for mom immediately. Talk to an experienced counselor or your physician.

Baby blues or postpartum? Boot Camp for New Dads advises dads of several signs that indicate the more serious PPD:

Self-esteem issues – Mom may have very negative feelings about herself. She may think she is worthless, unattractive or a bad mother. If she does feel this way, a simple “pep talk” is not going to help. Constant fatigue – It’s a fact that when the baby arrives, mom probably won’t get as much sleep as she needs. One of the signs to watch for is constant fatigue, even upon waking. Fatigue is a symptom of depression. Weight loss or weight gain – Yes, while some moms lose a little of the pregnancy weight within the first few months after birth, other moms stay the same weight. Significant weight loss from a lack of appetite or weight gain from overeating is sign that something is wrong. Crying often – Mom’s occasional crying is normal as her hormones fluctuate and she has difficulty getting that extra, much needed rest. But, crying every day and/or more than once a day is a red flag. Disinterest — When mom is not interested in herself, her baby, family or other activities, it’s an indication that something is wrong. Mood swings – Similar to a roller coaster ride, mood swings are extreme changes in mood. Mom’s joyfulness immediately followed by sadness and despair are not healthy moods. Being afraid of hurting the baby or herself – If mom is afraid of hurting the baby or herself, get medical attention immediately.

According to Greg Bishop, founder of Boot Camp for New Dads and active Boot Camp coach, “Many new moms experience the baby blues, which can include symptoms of crying and mood swings, restlessness and fatigue that lasts for a few hours to a few weeks after delivery. PPD doesn’t always happen immediately after birth. It can take hold months after the baby is born and moms usually experience exaggerated symptoms of the baby blues. PPD is a serious condition that can affect any mom – whether she’s just given birth to her first child or fifth. PPD may be attributed to changes in hormone levels, the stress of a new baby, lack of sleep or a combination of things. It’s important to know how to recognize the signs of the condition because moms with PPD will not get well without professional help.”

Katherine Stone Alliance

In an effort to reach and educate more men about PPD and what they can do; Boot Camp for New Dads is working with Katherine Stone, a nationally-recognized, award-winning advocate for women with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and author of postpartum progress. Boot Camp will be working with Stone in the development of a new section on the bcnd.org website that is dedicated to PPD, as well as collaborating with Postpartum Support International on their website.

Fatherhood Books Serve as a “Play by Play” Guides

Greg Bishop offers strategies from more than 200,000 new dads that have gone through the Boot Camp for New Dads program in both of his books, Crash Course for New Dads: Tools, Checklists and Cheat Sheets and his first book, Hit the Ground Crawling, which covers work balance, being a dad, caring for a new mom and much more. Both books are available online at www.DadsAdventure.com.

New Dads Learn What to Expect at Boot Camp Workshops

Dads-to-be will be better equipped to face the challenges and opportunities of fatherhood after attending a Boot Camp “hands on” educational workshop. Men attend the class when they are expecting their first baby, and are joined in the workshop by “veterans” who had previously attended and have returned with their two to four-month-old baby in tow. They are able to give the dads-to-be a realistic idea of what to do and what to expect when their first baby comes. For many men attending, it’s their first time holding a baby.

Boot Camp for New Dads

Now celebrating their 19th year, Boot Camp for New Dads is nationally acclaimed as the “Best Practice” for preparing men to be fathers and has been named a U.S. Navy Model Program. Boot Camp for New Dads has prepared more than 200,000 men for fatherhood over the years.

With more than 4.1 million births (National Center for Health Statistics), and approximately 1.5 million men becoming new dads every year, it’s more important than ever for fathers to realize that being a “good provider” is only part of the very central role they have in their children’s lives.

Also, When can I take a pregnancy test?/When would the results be most accurate? Thank you!
By the way, I’m not trying to get pregnant (I should have said this before….my fault) but just b/c the condom broke and it’s a possibility I want to be sure that if there is a baby, I don’t hurt it.

She is wanting to die herself and i cannot bear to hear her say things like that. I know she is grieving we all are but i know not as much as her. I do know how she is feeling cause i have had miscarriages and i had a daughter that was killed by a drunk driver. It took me a long time to get up out of bed but i didn’t want to die cause i had my son to think of but how can i make her see that dying won’t help her in the way she thinks it will?
I am afraid she will hurt herself. I don’t know what to do. We are very close (we are only 17 months apart) so we have always been close.
I want to help her but she won’t let me in
They gave her an anxiety pill and sleeping pills but she hasn’t gone back to the doctor cause we just buried “Alexandria” 2 days ago

I’ve had depression for a very long time and i’m taking two different types of anitdepressants and an anti anxiety medication to try and cope with this pregnancy. The problem is, i have a daughter who just turned 1 and i wasn’t actually happy to have her in my life until she was 9 months old. We got pregnant very quickly when we decided to try again, which i wasn’t totally on board for in the first place. Honestly, we are an LDS family and we had the feeling that we should have another baby. So now i’m 11 weeks and i’ve been hoping for a miscarriage the entire time. i feel to awful about it because i know we are doing the right thing, but i’m very overwhelmed and i’m only 21. Is there anyone else who has felt this way because i feel crazy and guilty every day and i’m on every medication i’m allowed to take. I don’t know what to do. If anyone has any thoughts or has ever been in this situation, i would love to hear from you. Thanks!

I do not feel any less stable. I am not severely depressed. I kknow what effects depression can have on the baby. I think under my circumstances the greater risk is with taking the medication.

Anyway, Was it dangerous for the baby to have stopped taking the medication? I read it can lead to losing the pregnancy…but you can’t believe everything you read.
