Postpartum depresson (PPD) is also called as postnatal depression. It is a form of clinical depression hitting women (and sometimes even men) after the birth of a child. Studies indicate as much as 5-25% of women suffer from postpartum depression symptoms.

Having a baby is one of the happiest moments in the life of a mother. It can be so thrilling and exciting to have a new baby enter your lives. But it can even be very challenging at times. A woman goes through a lot of changes at physical and emotional levels during pregnancy and child birth.

Such changes can cause a woman to feel sad, afraid, confused and anxious. For many women, such feelings go away after some time. When the feelings go away on their own after some time, it is reffered as ‘baby blues’.

However if feelings persist for a long time, or even get worse, then it would be labeled as pospartum depression. Below are a few signs and symptoms of pospartum depression. A woman may feel all or some of these symptoms.

If these symptoms do not go away or fade away soon then the woman may need medical attention to overcome the problem. It is not advised to neglect this problem for long.

Postpartum Depression Symptoms:

Feelings of restlessness
Feeling sad or feel like crying
Low energy levels, getting tired easily
Feeling irritable
Unable to sleep well
Unexplained weight loss or weight gain
Don’t feel like eating
Sometimes a woman may indulge in overeating
Lack of interest in the baby, or on the other hand, become overly worried about it
Unable to focus or remember things easily
Not deriving pleasure in anything, including sex
Being too much worried about hurting the baby

These are some of the common postpartum depression symptoms. One woman may suffer from some of these symptoms while another may suffer from other symptoms from the above list.

PPD may affect women of any age, racial background etc. The exact causes of postpartum depression may not be exactly known. It could be due to hormonal changes in the woman’s body. Or it could be due to low thyroid levels which could happen after giving birth.

If you suffer from any of the above postpartum depression symptoms, no need to get unduly worried. This condition can be treated and cured. However, it is advised not to resort to medication (unless extremely necessary) for treatment of this condition as it could affect breast milk.

Few Tips to Deal with Postpartum Depression Symptoms:

Get good amount of rest.
Try to take a nap when the baby naps.
Talk to your family members.
If needed, consult a doctor.
Avoid spending a lot of time alone.

Causes of Postpartum Depression

The exact causes of postpartum depression are unknown, but rapid hormonal changes that accompany pregnancy and delivery may trigger depression. Levels of the hormones estrogen, progesterone, and cortisol fall dramatically within 48 hours after delivery. Women who go on to develop postpartum depression may be more sensitive to these hormonal changes. Postpartum depression (PPD) is a condition that describes a range of physical and emotional changes that many mothers can have after having a baby.

After Pregnancy

Depression after pregnancy is called postpartum depression or peripartum depression. After pregnancy, hormonal changes in a woman’s body may trigger symptoms of depression. During pregnancy, the amount of two female hormones, estrogen and progesterone, in a woman’s body increases greatly. In the first 24 hours after childbirth, the amount of these hormones rapidly drops back down to their normal non-pregnant levels. Researchers think the fast change in hormone levels may lead to depression, just as smaller changes in hormones can affect a woman’s moods before she gets her menstrual period.

Marital/Self-esteem Causes

Marital dissatisfaction is not only a risk factor but may also be a cause for PPD. Mothers who are closer to their spouses/partners are less likely to develop PPD. Some research shows that receiving a daily massage from their partner dramatically reduced the incidence of PPD for some mothers. So clearly a poor marital relationship can play a role in PPD, while a good marital relationship appears to reduce PPD symptoms.

Symptoms

If any of the following symptoms endure for more than two weeks after childbirth, women should seek medical attention:

Feelings of anxiety, guilt, sadness, worthlessness, restlessness or irritability

Sleep disturbances

Lack of interest in social or other activities you previously enjoyed

Lack of feeling or feelings of resentment, anger or fear about motherhood, your partner or your child

The symptoms can range from mild depression to a severe depression with thoughts of ending one’s life (suicide). The disorder should be suspected during its peak (four to six weeks after delivery) in a patient who demonstrates signs and symptoms of clinical depression (feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness, changes in eating and sleeping patterns, irritability, difficulty with motivation, and difficulty getting out of bed in the morning). Additionally, patients may be emotionally detached from the infant and unable to display loving affection towards family members.

Treatment

Psychotherapy for the woman and her family can be very helpful in enhancing coping skills, educating them on caring for a newborn, and providing support. SSRIs are secreted into breast milk, however, in varying amounts. Some studies indicate that paroxetine secretes the least amount of medication into breast milk. Breast-feeding women considering taking an antidepressant should discuss medication choices with their doctor. SSRIs can be given two to three weeks before delivery to patients who had a previous episode to avoid recurrence. Some SSRIs include: fluoxetine(Prozac), paroxetine (Paxil), sertraline(Zoloft), and citalopram(Celexa).

Medical Treatment

Treatment for postpartum depression depends on the form and how severe it is.

Your health care provider may refer you for psychological help and individual or group therapy.

Support groups are helpful.

Marriage counseling may be part of your treatment plan.

It’s important for friends and family to understand the illness so they can help.

Research shows that depression runs in families and that some people inherit genes that make it more likely for them to get depressed. Not everyone who has the genetic makeup for depression gets depressed, though. And many people who have no family history of depression have the condition. So although genes are one factor, they aren’t the single cause of depression.

The effect of maternal-fetal stress on depression is currently an exciting area of research. It seems that maternal stress during pregnancy can increase the chance that the child will be prone to depression as an adult, particularly if there is a genetic vulnerability. It is thought that the mother’s circulating stress hormones can influence the development of the fetus’ brain during pregnancy. This altered fetal brain development occurs in ways that predispose the child to the risk of depression as an adult. Further research is still necessary to clarify how this happens.

Symptoms of Depression

A bleak outlook—nothing will ever get better and there’s nothing you can do to improve your situation.

You may have physical aches and pains which appear to have no physical cause, such as back pain.

Strong feelings of worthlessness or guilt. Harsh criticism of perceived faults and mistakes.

Problems sleeping, especially in the early morning, or wanting to sleep all of the time

You spend a lot of time thinking about what has gone wrong, what will go wrong or what is wrong about yourself as a person. You may also feel guilty sometimes about being critical of others (or even thinking critically about them).

Feeling sad or “down” for a few days is not the same as exhibiting symptoms of depression. A clinical case of depression symptoms as outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental.

Having a poor appetite, no interest in food and losing weight (though some people overeat and put on weight – ‘comfort eating’).

Thinking about suicide – this is very common. If you feel this way, talk to somebody about it. If you think somebody else might be thinking this way, ask them about it – IT WILL NOT MAKE THEM MORE LIKELY TO COMMIT SUICIDE.

Significant changes in weight when not attempting to gain or lose (a gain or loss of 5% or more in a month) may be indicative of depression. In children, this may also present as a failure to make expected weight gains.

Causes of Depression

Biochemical: Some evidence from high-tech imaging studies indicates that people with depression have physical changes in their brains. The significance of these changes is still uncertain but may eventually help pinpoint causes. The naturally occurring brain chemicals called neurotransmitters, which are linked to mood, also may play a role in depression. Hormonal imbalances also could be a culprit.

Depression can be linked to events in your life, such as the death of someone you love, a divorce or job loss. Taking certain medicines, abusing drugs or alcohol, or having other illnesses can also lead to depression. Depression isn’t caused by personal weakness, laziness or lack of willpower.

Certain environmental situations, such as stress or breakup of important attachments, also may precipitate depression, especially in vulnerable persons.

Genes. Some studies show that depression is more common in people whose biological family members also have the condition. Researchers are trying to find genes that may be involved in causing depression.

Postpartum Depression that occurs during pregnancy or within a year after delivery is called perinatal depression. The exact number of women with depression during this time is unknown. But researchers believe that depression is one of the most common complications during and after pregnancy. Often, the depression is not recognized or treated, because some normal pregnancy changes cause similar symptoms and are happening at the same time. Tiredness, problems sleeping, stronger emotional reactions, and changes in body weight may occur during pregnancy and after pregnancy. But these symptoms may also be signs of depression.

Many women experience major mood shifts after childbirth, ranging from brief, mild baby blues to longer-lasting, deeper clinical depression, which is known as postpartum depression. Feelings of sadness and depression are more common after childbirth than many people may realize. It’s important for new mothers — and those who love them — to understand the symptoms of postpartum depression and to reach out to family, friends, and medical professionals for help.

Symptoms

Physical symptoms such as frequent headaches, chest pain, rapid heart beat, numbness, shakiness or dizziness, and mild shortness of breath suggest anxiety. Postpartum anxiety disorder is a separate disorder from postpartum depression, but the two often occur together.

A woman who has postpartum psychosis may feel cut off from her baby. She may see and hear things that aren’t there. Any woman who has postpartum depression can have fleeting thoughts of suicide or of harming her baby. But a woman with postpartum psychosis may feel like she has to act on these thoughts.

Causes

Postpartum depression is caused by changes in hormones and can run in families. Women with severe premenstrual syndrome are more likely to suffer from postpartum depression.

There may be a number of reasons why a woman gets depressed. Hormone changes or a stressful life event, such as a death in the family, can cause chemical changes in the brain that lead to depression. Depression is also an illness that runs in some families. Other times, it’s not clear what causes depression.

Experts agree there are no single cause but rather a combination of hormonal, biochemical, environmental, psychological, and genetic factors. Genetics may play the largest role in postpartum depression, as the single greatest risk factor for PPD is a personal history of depression.

When you’re sleep deprived and overwhelmed, you may have trouble handling even minor problems. You may be anxious about your ability to care for a newborn. You may feel less attractive or struggle with your sense of identity. You may feel that you’ve lost control over your life. Any of these factors can contribute to depression.

Treatment

Postpartum depression can be treated in several ways. Support groups may help. Some women go to therapy or counseling with a mental health professional. This professional may talk with the woman about the risks and benefits of antidepressant medications.

Always consult a psychiatrist or other mental health professional when depressive symptoms continue or worsen; when the new mother feels or expresses a wish to harm herself, or feels or expresses a fear that she will harm the child; or when she becomes suspicious or begins to act in an unusual, bizarre manner.

If bad moods, stress, and conflicts plague the pregnancy, try to head off the probable later depression by getting help before the baby is born. Be assertive; if a doctor does not take the symptoms seriously, get a second opinion.

When the thyroid gland is not responding to the pituitary gland’s release of thyroid stimulating hormone, the result is a hypoactive thyroid, or hypothyroidism, and insufficient levels of thyroid hormone in the blood. This condition affects more women than men, and requires life long treatment to replace the hormones not being produced by the thyroid.

Thyroid hormones

The hormones secreted by the thyroid are:

Thyroxine (T4), which contains four atoms of iodine.
Triiodothyronine (T3), has three atoms of iodine attached

Thyroxine is turned into Triiodothyronine by the liver, and it is these hormone levels that determine the type of thyroid disease that is present. These hormones work to regulate the rate at which your body burns energy. They affect weight and sleep patterns, menstrual cycle changes in women and sexual dysfunction (ED) in men.

Another hormone involved in this process is thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), manufactured by the pituitary gland. When thyroid hormone levels in the blood are low, the pituitary gland releases TSH, which stimulates the thyroid to produce and secrete more hormone.

Symptoms:

Subclinical hypothyroidism is the term that describes the initial symptoms of hypothyroidism that can be overlooked and mimic other conditions. Symptoms include:

Fatigue
Intolerance to cold
Dry and/or pale skin
Hair loss and brittle nails
sore muscles, slow movements and weakness
Hoarse voice
a change in facial expression
Depression
Memory deficits and difficulty in concentrating
Increased weight
Constipation
fertility problems and increased risk of miscarriage
heavy, irregular or prolonged menstrual periods
Bradycardia (slow heart rate)

Goiter is a swelling in one or both lobes that site on either side of the thyroid gland, that appears as an enlargement on the lower aspect of the neck.

Causes:

Hypothyroidism is more common in older people.
Women are more likely to be affected than men.
Autoimmune conditions such as diabetes, vitiligo, and Addison’s disease.
Certain medications, such as lithium carbonate (psychotropic med) and amiodarone (for the heart)
Inefficient amount of iodine
Autoimmune Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
Problems with hypothalamus or pituitary gland

Hypothyroidism is diagnosed by testing the blood TSH levels and thyroid hormone levels in the blood. A diagnosis of autoimmune hypothyroidism is usually determined by the presence of certain antibodies in the blood, which show as a problem with autoimmunity.

Treatment:

Treatment for Hypothyroidism involves replacing the thyroid hormones that are absent. This is easily accomplished by taking oral levothyroxine. The dosage will need to be adjusted by your physician to get the correct dosage for you. Regular blood testing will be required to check hormone levels. Medication will then be adjusted accordingly. Medication and treatment for underactive hypothyroid will continue for the rest of the patient’s life. Once the correct dose of thyroxine replacement has been determined, yearly blood tests will be needed to ensure appropriate hormone levels are maintained.

Fetal thyroid development occurs after the 12th week of pregnancy. Until then the fetus depends on the mother’s thyroid hormone levels for nervous system development. The mother can feel safe in taking her thyroid supplements. She needs it for her health, as well as for the health of the developing fetus.

If you are hypothyroid and plan to have children sometime in the future, let your doctor know of your plans so that your health can be in the most optimal condition as possible.

Coming from a one time vaginal infection sufferer, why anyone would want a fungal infection to not be treated is not a question I never thought of asking. Yeast Infection Causes Pregnancy Vaginal Candida overgrowth is a bacterial infection that can cause quite serious symptoms especially if left untreated.

The only reason I can think of anyone asking this question is someone who is too embarrassed to go and buy an over the counter treatment. These women are probably searching the internet for reassurance that if they leave their yeast infection untreated it will actually go away on its own. This is not the case.

The Danger of Chronic Yeast Infection

If the Candida yeast is left alone without any effort to destroy it the only thing that can happen is it will infect you even more. The burning during urination will start to get severe to the point you will not want to urinate. The itching will get more intense, and sexual intercourse will be the last thing on your mind.

If you have just finished a course of antibiotics, and you’re suffering from a fungal infection you have a high chance of having the yeast infection in your intestines as well. If this is left untreated, and you don’t follow an anti Candida protocol your symptoms will be a lot more than just an itching and burning sensation. You will start to experience symptoms that include…Lethargy ,Loss of concentration and memory loss ,Muscle and joint aches and pains ,Gastrointestinal discomfort like bloating and indigestion ,Food allergies ,Recurrent vaginal or urinary infections ,Mood swings ,Depression ,Flu like symptoms ,And many more.

The quicker you start treating your Candida infection/candidiasis the quicker it will be cured. There are plenty of natural remedies for fungal infections that you can buy, and they are not related to yeast overgrowth. This will save you any embarrassment when your paying for your products.

People who suffer with acne are in pain. A constant pain I might add. Within the US context, this pain is so bad that The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has highlighted pain as their primary focus in their annual report card on US health.

One in four Americans suffers some type of pain for at least 24 hours. The use of pharmaceutical drugs to treat pain is up significantly. When these drugs are taken, side effects come right along with them.

A 1999 Institute of Medicine (IOM) report on medical errors, revealed a shocking truth. At least 44,000 and as many as 98,000 Americans die each year from preventable medical errors committed in hospitals. These errors result from properly prescribed pharmaceutical drugs.

After the number one and number two killers of Americans, namely heart disease and cancer respectively, guess what the number three killer of Americans is? And it has held down third position for well over ten years. In other words, it has been a consistent killer.

Click for All Natural Cure For Stopping Acne In 3 Days!

The number three killer is the adverse reaction to properly prescribed pharmaceutical drugs. When all of the disparate categories are combined, a grand total of 225,000 deaths each year are accounted for.

This is what a few doctors say about pharmaceutical drugs and disease:

• Every educated physician knows that most diseases are not appreciably helped by

medicine.

- Richard C. Cabot, M.D. (Mass. Gen. Hospital)

• Medicine is only palliative, for back of disease lies the cause, and this cause no drug can reach.

- Wier Mitchel, M.D.

• The person who takes medicine must recover twice, once from the disease and once from the medicine.

- William Osler, M.D.

You can safely bet that acne plays a role in this. To what extent, your guess is as good as mine. I am just presenting the acne scourge from another perspective.

When doctors have to prescribe drugs like Isotretinoin for acne, we can understand why deaths from adverse reaction can occur. The brand name for Isotretinoin is Accutane.

Click for All Natural Cure For Stopping Acne In 3 Days!

When all other acne drugs have failed, Isotretinoin is brought in. This is the bad boy of acne drug treatment. Before you even consider taking this heavyweight drug you are advised to speak with your doctor at length about all aspects of your acne condition.

Before taking this powerhouse drug you will be asked to sign a form indicating that you fully understand the serious side effects accompanying this super drug. Signing that form indicates your move into the big leagues.

Are you pregnant? Do not take this drug if you are. Isotretinoin causes severe birth defects in an unborn baby. It also can cause miscarriage, premature birth or baby death.

If you are sexually active while taking Isotretinoin you must protect yourself from getting pregnant. As a matter of fact this drug is so dangerous to an unborn child that you are advised to use two reliable forms of birth control at the same time.

In addition, pregnancy tests must be performed every month. If you do become pregnant you must inform your doctor immediately. That is crucial!

There are many more side effects that result from taking this drug. Two chilling ones are depression and suicide. Seeking a natural treatment for your acne is worth investigating. Speak with your doctor about the natural treatments that may be good options for you.

Women hate wrinkles. They consider it as the worst enemy of their existence and the fight with wrinkles never ends. They do any thing that they can possibly do to get rid of those wrinkles from their faces. As we age, wrinkles and dark spots often begin to make an appearance on the face and neck area.

Wrinkles are creases or folds in the skin. In aging skin, they occur because of the loss of elasticity and generalized loss of dermal thickness so it causes the skin cells to become thinner as well. Repair and renewal of skin is delayed as the separation of skin cells is slowed. Another thing contributing to this is the fat cells just inside your skin becoming smaller and lose their ability to cover the empty slots formed due to the damage on the inner skin layers. These fat cells are usually responsible for making your skin to look more limber. All this together causes your skin to sag, get dryer and form wrinkles.

Wrinkles can be caused by a number of different things with age being the most main. Exposure to UV light, smoking, poor eating habits, pollution, stress, and loss of vitamin E worsens this problem and can cause premature wrinkling.

Dark spots often referred to as age or liver spots are caused by a buildup of melanin in the outer layer under the skin. Overexposure to the sun is a common cause, as well an injury to the skin and acne. Though they are generally painless, they do lead to the noticeable discoloration of the skin, and range from light brown to black.

Even though wrinkles, age spots, and stretch marks are a part of aging, age alone is not the only cause. Only laugh lines are a natural effect of aging. These hairline depressions around the corners of the eye, as well as the deeper grooves between the nose and upper lip, most likely occur because elastic fibers in the skin loosen over time, allowing the skin to sag and fold in on itself.

Stretch marks often occur in the normal course of development especially in women. They are frequently aggravated by rapid growth, pregnancy, hormones and some other natural causes. Stretch marks are weaknesses in the supporting structure of the skin causing layers of the skin to separate leaving the skin grooved and discolored. Dermal collagen is damaged and blood vessel dilation results in the information of red or purple colored early stretch marks.

When it comes to making your skin more youthful and smooth, it all comes down to choosing the right kind of skin treatment. A micro active formula to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks, wrinkles and age spots, is trying Dermafine-MD. This gives you the ultimate repairing micro emulsion formula for rebuilding new skin and reducing the appearance of stretch marks, wrinkles and age spots and smoothes your skin while it firms and nourishes it. No one wants ugly wrinkles or stretch marks. Trying something new would help you, have beautiful skin you’ve always wanted.

It is still not known what causes anxiety disorders. Many experts from different disciplines do not agree on whether the causes are genetical or behavioural. Physiological researchers suspect a chemical imbalance in the brain is present in sufferers of anxiety attacks. However, whether this chemical imbalance is the cause of the attacks or a result of them.

A genetic pre-disposition has been noted, as anxiety orders have been found to run in families. To the contrary this could be down to environmental reasons rather than genetic ones. Behaviourists believe the condition stems from behaviours which have been learnt, psycho-analysts favour the view that the condition is as a result of unresolved issues in the past.

What is certain is that every case is different, it could be a combination of some or all of the above the cases. Anxiety attacks are very personal and unique to each sufferer. Just as the symptoms are different, so are the causes and the treatment of anxiety. An anxiety attacks disorder occurs when the attacks are frequent and disruptive of the persons life. Anxiety attack disorders are thought to develop from previous anxiety attacks which have not been successfully managed.

Panic attacks come around as the result of an accumulation of life stress or due to an extremely stressful life event. Such events are most commonly the death of a loved one, major trauma or illness, pregnancy, childbirth, financial problems, job loss/unemployment or divorce. Where an anxiety attack disorder is due to stress that has built up over a period of time, the first attack could seem to appear as if from nowhere, even whilst watching TV. As there is no visible connection between the cause and result for this type of sufferer, an even greater fear of these unexpected panic attacks causes subsequent attacks.

Panic attacks themselves can be part of another disorder. For example, someone with asthma may have a panic attacks due to feelings of fear connected with breathlessness. Anxiety attacks which are primary conditions must be resolved or they run the risk of turning into an anxiety disorder.

We all feel some level of anxiety sometimes. It is, after all, a normal human emotion. However, when this feeling of anxiety begins to disturb our routines and way of life then it is a problem which needs to be addressed. Anxiety attacks and disorders are experienced by many different people at different stages in peoples lives. It is common and many people report having an anxiety attack at some point. It is estimated that one in every 75 people suffer from anxiety attacks. So if you are a sufferer, you are not alone. Despite this fact, many people wait as long as 18 months to seek treatment for anxiety. Moreover, many cases go completely unreported.

Seeing a therapist is the best anxiety cure and the only anxiety disorder treatment to cure your anxiety long-term. A therapist will help you identify the problem and treat your anxiety. Many people do not seek professional help because of the stigma and connection to mental health problems. However, anxiety attacks are common and should not be kept secret.

Amenorrhea is absence of menstruation. Amenorrhea is a normal feature in prepubertal, pregnant, and postmenopausal females. Amenorrhea can be caused by any number of changes in the organs, glands, and hormones involved in menstruation. Stress due to internal or situational concerns can cause secondary amenorrhea, because stress interferes with the brain’s control (through hormones) of the ovaries. Amenorrhea may be classified as primary or secondary. primary amenorrhea – from the beginning and usually lifelong; menstruation never begins at puberty. Primary amenorrhea is defined as the failure of menses to occur by age 16 years. Secondary amenorrhea – due to some physical cause and usually of later onset; a condition in which menstrual periods which were at one time normal and regular become increasing abnormal and irregular or absent. Secondary amenorrhea is defined as the cessation of menses once they have begun. This problem is seen in about 1% of women of reproductive age. Amenorrhea occurs if the hypothalamus and pituitary fail to provide appropriate gonadotropin stimulation to the ovary, resulting in inadequate production of estradiol or in failure of ovulation and progesterone production. Amenorrhea can also occur if the ovaries fail to produce adequate amounts of estradiol despite normal and appropriate gonadotropin stimulation by the hypothalamus and pituitary. Chronic conditions (eg, starvation, excessive exercise, depression, psychological stress, marijuana use, Crohn disease, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell disease, thalassemia major, HIV infection, renal disease, thyroid disease, diabetes mellitus, anorexia nervosa)

Physiologic states of amenorrhoea are seen during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding). The hypothalamus is the initiator of the follicular phase. The gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) pump located in the hypothalamus releases GnRH in a pulsatile fashion into the portal vessel system surrounding the anterior pituitary gland. GnRH interacts with the anterior pituitary gland to release follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in the follicular phase. FSH is secreted into the circulation and interacts with the granulosa cells surrounding the developing oocytes. As levels of progesterone, estradiol, and inhibin decline 2-3 days before menses, the hypothalamus begins to release higher levels of FSH, which recruits oocytes for the next menstrual cycle. As FSH increases during the early portion of the follicular phase, it interacts with granulosa cells to stimulate the aromatization of androgens into estradiol. Early in the follicular phase, both estradiol and FSH increase the FSH-receptor content of the developing follicles. Over the next several days, the steady increase of estradiol (E2) levels exerts a progressively greater suppressive influence on pituitary FSH release. Only one selected lead follicle, with the largest reservoir of estrogen, can withstand the declining FSH environment. The remaining oocytes that initially were recruited with the lead follicle undergo atresia. Immediately prior to ovulation, the combination of E2 and FSH leads to the production of luteinizing-hormone (LH) receptors on the granulosa cells surrounding the lead follicle.

Hormonal contraceptives that contain only progestogen like the oral contraceptive Circulating estradiol stimulates growth of the endometrium. Progesterone, produced by the corpus luteum formed after ovulation, transforms proliferating endometrium into secretory endometrium. During the late follicular phase, estrogen positively influences LH secretion, instead of suppressing pituitary LH secretion as it does early in the follicular phase. To have this positive effect, the E2 level must achieve a sustained elevation for several days. The LH surge promotes maturation of the dominant oocyte, the release of the oocyte and then the luteinization of the granulosa cells and the surrounding theca cells of the dominant follicle resulting in progesterone production. The appropriate level of progesterone arising from the maturing dominant follicle contributes to the precise timing of the mid-cycle surge of LH. E2 promotes uterine endometrial gland growth, which allows for future implantation. Other signs or symptoms along with the absence of periods, such as milky nipple discharge, headache, vision changes, or excessive hair growth on your face and torso (hirsutism).

Treatments of Amenorrhea based on the condition. Medical care needs are defined by the etiology of the menstrual cycle disturbance and the desires of the patient. Progesterone supplements (hormone treatment). Gonadotropin therapy or the use of pulsatile GnRH therapy is required to induce ovulation for patients with infertility whose underlying pathology cannot be reversed. Dopamine agonists are effective in treating hyperprolactinemia. Oral contraceptives (ovulation inhibitors). Dietary modifications (to include increased caloric and fat intake). Hormone replacement therapy is required to maintain bone density in patients whose underlying pathology cannot be reversed to restore normal endocrine function. In most cases, physicians will induce menstruation in non-pregnant females who have missed two or more consecutive menstrual periods, because of the danger posed to the uterus if the non-fertilized egg and endometrium lining are not expelled. Without this monthly expulsion, the risk of uterine cancer increases.Women with evidence of hyperandrogenism and disordered menses have many other medical issues that must be addressed. Specific treatment for amenorrhea is your opinion or preference and expectations for the course of the condition.

Urinary incontinence is the involuntary release of urine. It may be caused by physiologic, pharmacologic, pathologic, or psychological factors. There are two main types of urinary incontinence: stress incontinence and urge incontinence. Incontinence is most common among the elderly. Older men can become incontinent as the result of prostate surgery. Urinary incontinence can be caused by many different medical problems, including weak pelvic muscles or diabetes. According to the International Continence Society, urinary incontinence is defined as a condition of involuntary urine loss that is objectively demonstrable and is a social or hygienic problem. It is often temporary, and it almost always results from an underlying medical condition. Women experience incontinence twice as often as men. Pregnancy and childbirth, menopause, and the structure of the female urinary tract account for this difference.

Women are more likely than men to have urinary incontinence. This type of incontinence is a constant dripping of urine. Urinary incontinence is not associated with increased mortality. Treatment depends on what’s causing the problem and what type of incontinence you have. Age is a risk factor for UI. Older individuals may have medical conditions that impair continence. It is often found in people who have conditions such as diabetes, stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis, but may be an indication of other diseases or conditions that would also warrant medical attention. Urinary incontinence is the inability to control the release of urine from your bladder. The problem has varying degrees of severity. Incontinence is treatable and often curable at all ages. If your urinary incontinence is caused by a medical problem, the incontinence will go away when the problem is treated.

Causes of Urinary incontinence

The common causes and risk factor’s of Urinary incontinence include the following:

Anatomic, physiologic, or pathologic (disease) factors.

Smoking is also a major risk factor of Urinary incontinence.

Problems such as diabetes or high calcium levels.

Urinary tract infection

Certain medicines.

Depression or Alzheimer’s disease.

Nerve or muscle damage after pelvic radiation.

Build-up of stool in the bowels.

Symptoms of Urinary incontinence

Some sign and symptoms related to Urinary incontinence are as follows:

Inability to urinate.

An increased rate of urination without a proven bladder infection.

Leakage of urine that prevents activities.

Frequent bladder infections.

Bed-wetting or leaking while sleeping.

Leakage of urine that began or continued after surgery.

Treatment of Urinary incontinence

Here is list of the methods for treating Urinary incontinence:

Kegel exercises and bladder training help some types of incontinence.

A pessary is a stiff ring that is inserted by a doctor or nurse into the where it presses against the wall of the and the nearby urethra. The pressure helps reposition the urethra, leading to less stress leakage.

Some Medicines are also used to treat Urinary incontinence.

When other therapy fails, or when incontinence symptoms become severe, surgical treatment may be necessary.

Anemia is a condition where there is a lower than normal number of red blood cells in the blood, usually measured by a decrease in the amount of hemoglobin. ” It is a common problem for cancer patients and often results from the therapies used to suppress or control tumors. Anemia is associated with fatigue – a feeling of weakness or diminished physical and mental capacity unrelieved by rest (fatigue). Additional symptoms include diminished ability to perform daily functions and possibly impaired cognitive function, headache, dizziness, chest pain and shortness of breath, nausea, depression and occasionally pain. These symptoms are often complicated by coexisting disease(s).There are many compromises that are necessary when one has symptomatic anemia. This can affect the tolerability of therapy. Anemia is also associated with a poorer prognosis and increased mortality. Anemia is a common blood disorder. Women and people with chronic diseases are at increased risk of the condition. If you suspect you have anemia, see your doctor. Anemia can be a sign of serious illnesses. Treatments for anemia range from taking supplements to undergoing medical procedures. Although there are over 400 different forms of anemia, this health profile will only address the three most common: iron-deficiency anemia, vitamin B12 anemia and folic acid deficiency. Anemias can also be caused by such conditions as external bleeding, chronic disease, pregnancy , alcoholism, bleeding disorders, infection and hereditary conditions

Causes of Anemia

Except for the acute form, anemia is a result of systemic toxemia and acidosis-a condition of poisons, toxins and accumulated waste products floating in the blood – and lymph-streams, and of enervation or lowered nerve-tone. There is either an accumulation of these injurious substances due to failure of eliminative organs to handle a normal amount of such products, or they are produced in such considerable quantities that even normal organs, eliminating a normal amount or more than a normal amount of eliminations can not remove them rapidly enough. They have the effect of poisoning the organs that make the blood cells, which produce a deficient amount of blood cells or altered blood cells.

Symptoms of Anemia

Anemia goes undetected in many people, and symptoms can be vague. Most commonly, people with anemia report a feeling of weakness or fatigue, general malaise and sometimes a poor concentration. People with more severe anemia often report dyspnea (shortness of breath) on exertion. Very severe anemia prompts the body to compensate by increasing cardiac output , leading to palpitations and sweatiness, and to heart failure . Other useful signs are cheilosis and koilonychia .

Treatment of Anemia

Treatment should be directed at the cause of the anemia. In some cases, blood transfusions and the medication erythropoietin will correct anemia. For example, treatment for sickle cell anemia is different than treatment for a diet low in iron or folic acid. Talk to your HCP about the best treatment for the cause of your anemia. Other Treatment Injectable EPO (e.g., PROCRIT®, EPOGEN®) is an alternative to blood transfusion to treat critically ill patients with anemia. Exogenous EPO is identical to the natural hormone in its role of stimulating the bone marrow to produce red blood cells. EPO has been used safely in many clinical settings, including chronic renal failure, oncology, and surgery. In the ICU, use of EPO has been shown to reduce the amount of blood transfused by almost 50%, at the same time significantly increasing hemoglobin levels.

Remember that fat is required for function of the brain but excessive intake of fat causes fat to build up in the arteries as well as small veins in the penis and brain. That is also the reason that some experts indicate that erectile dysfunction in men is one of many symptoms of heart diseases an. In this article, we will discuss the causes, risk factors, prevention and treatment of sexual dysfunction.

I. Causes
1. Aging
Starting at the age of 40 the levels of prolactin increases, stimulating the conversion of dihydro-testosterone, causing enlarged prostate and erection difficulty in some men.

2. Uncontrolled diet
Uncontrolled diet that is high in saturated fat and trans fat causing excessive fat build up in the arteries and veins in the penis. Remember that fat is required for function of the brain but excessive intake of fat causes fat to build up in the arteries as well as small veins in the penis and brain. That is also the reason that some experts indicate that erectile dysfunction in men is one of many symptoms of heart diseases and stroke.

3. Smoking
Nicotine is a stimulative, it causes the depletion of oxygen in the bloodstream resulting in the heart to beat faster than usual so that it can carry more oxygen to the cells in our body. It also causes the deduction of the amount of nitric oxide (the substance that relaxes or dilates blood vessels, enabling them to open up and bring more blood to the penis and helping to create and maintain an erection) released from the head of the penis resulting in erectile dysfunction. Cigarette fume contains high amounts of cadmium, the harmful and toxic substance causing calcium to stick on the arterial wall resulting in blocking blood flow to the penile veins creating erectile problems.

4. Excessive alcohol drinking
Excessive alcohol drinking over a long period of time not only damages the liver but also raises the levels of triglycerides in the blood. It also leads to high blood pressure, heart failure and an increased calorie intake causing the arteries and vessels in the penis to be clogged up by harmful cholesterol resulting in erection difficulty.

5. Enlarged Prostate
Studies found that there are strong relations between lower urinary tract symptoms and the rate of erectile dysfunction in men with symptoms of enlarged prostate. The main role of the prostate gland is to squeeze fluid into the urethra as sperm moves through during sexual climax. As the prostate enlarges, the layer of tissue surrounding it stops it from expanding, causing the gland to press against the urethra like a clamp on a garden hose resulting in prostate gland muscles surrounding the prostate making it contract and shrink down, increasing the erectile problem.

6. High levels of LDL
The hardening and narrowing of the arteries, causes a reduction in blood flow throughout the body including the vessels in the penis, leading to impotence.

7. Hormone imbalance
Testosterone deficiency can result in a loss of libido and loss of erection. An excess of the hormone prolactin also reduces levels of testosterone. Hormone imbalances can also result from kidney or liver disease.

8. Diabetes
Chronic high levels of blood sugar often damages small blood vessels and nerves throughout the body, impairing the nerve impulses and reducing the blood flow needed for erection.

II. Risk factors
1. Chronic health conditions
People suffering from chronic diseases have a high risk of erectile dysfunction. Chronic diseases such as:
a) Heart diseases are caused by cholesterol building up in the arteries and blood vessel resulting in inadequate blood flow into the penis.
b) Diabetes with unhealthy diet causes high levels of glucose build-up in the bloodstream resulting in narrowed arteries and blood vessels that prevent adequate blood from entering the penis.
c) Prostate enlargement and chronic prostate: Inflammation of the prostate also reduces the blood flow entering the penis resulting in erectile dysfunction.
Other chronic diseases affecting organs like the lung, liver, and kidney also can lead to erectile dysfunction because of inflammation, inadequate blood flow or hormonal imbalance.

2. Aging
Aging results in more testosterone to be converted to dihydro-testosterone causing erections to take longer to develop and to need more direct touch to the penis.

3. Nerve damage
It is obvious that any damage to the nerve that directly controls erections can cause temporarily erectile dysfunction.

4. Medication
The side effects of some medications used to treat high blood pressure, depression, and prostate enlarged may interfere with nerve impulses and reducing the blood flow to the penis.

5. Prolong cycling
Prolong cycling over an extended period and pressure from a bicycle seat compresses nerves and blood flow to the penis, leading to temporary erectile dysfunction.

6. Psychological conditions
Other psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety and stress also contributes to some cases of erectile dysfunction.

7. Substance abuse
Substance abuse such as smoking, alcohol, marijuana or other drugs often causes erectile dysfunction.
There are many other risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, high levels of cholesterol and triglycerides that can cause erectile dysfunction.

III. Prevention and Treatment
A. Foods
1. Garlic
Garlic contains allicin, an ingredient that increases blood flow to the penis and stimulates sexual desire and production of semen.

2. Celery
Celery is a stimulant. It contains high amounts of androsterone, an odorless hormone released through male perspiration.

3. Banana
Bananas contain the bromelain enzyme and potassium that help to increase libido in men.

4.Watermelon
Watermelon contains high amounts of phyto-nutrients called citrulline. It works with nitric oxide helping to relax or dilate blood vessels, enabling them to open up and bring more blood to the penis and helping to create an erection.

5. Avocado
Avocado contains high amounts of folic acid, which helps metabolize proteins. The vitamin B6 in avocado helps to stimulate the growth of testosterone.

6. Tomatoes
Tomato contains high amounts of bio-active phyto-nutrients, lycopene and beta carotene that help to bring more blood flow into the penis and to create an erection.

7. Egg
Eggs contain high amounts of vitamins B5 and B6 that helps to balance the hormone levels in our body and fight stress.

8. Chocolate
Chocolate contains theobromine and phenylethylamine chemicals that are believed to drive sex desire.
Be sure to talk to your doctor if you have any kidney diseases, since many of the above may do more harm than good to your chronic kidney condition.

B. Herbs
1. Astragalus
Astragalus boosts the immune system, increases the body’s resistance to infections, strengthens the spleen, blood and encourages the kidney to release more sodium into the urine indirectly reducing the risk of enlarged prostate, prostate cancer and erectile dysfunction.

2. Damiana
Damiana contains alkaloids that helps to stimulate the blood flow to the genital area resulting in a stronger desire for sex and firming erection.

3. Cnidium monnieri
Cnidium seed contains voumarins osththol, imperationgludcides and hepatopprotective sesquiterpenes that helps to drive sexual desires and enhances stronger and harder penis erection.

4. Saw palmetto
Saw palmetto not only helps to balance the natural hormone production but also helps to boost testosterone in men as well as estrogen in women if needed by our body resulting in a healthy, normal sex drive.

5. Yohimbe
Yohimbe contains yohombine that helps to block alpha-2-adrenergic nerve
activity, thereby the vessels are allow to dilate. The increasing of blood flow is the result of stronger, harder and longer erection to penis. Yohimbe deserves the reputation it has achieved as a sexual stimulant. Recent study shows that yohimbe may be effective in the treatment of male organic impotence and diabetes.

6. Ginko Biloba
Ginkgo biloba generally had a positive effect on sexual desire, excitement that causes erection in men, and orgasm, because ginko biloba helps to increase blood flow to the genitals, the levels of nitric oxide and dilates the veins which carry the blood. Men reported a seventy five percent increase in sexual satisfaction after taking ginko biloba.

7. Wild Oats and Plumtree Berry are often used to increase Testosterone levels in males and females.

C. Chinese Herbs
1.Tribulus terrestris
Tribulus terrestris grows in many tropical and moderate areas of the world. It contains saponins, the ingredient used in Chinese medicine as a testosterone enhancer and a variety of liver kidney and cardiovascular diseases. Studies shows that it works very well when stacked with DHEA and androstenedione.

2.Cordyceps Sinensis
Cordyceps Sinensis is a hormone stimulator. Study shows that treatment with cordyceps significantly increased the sex drive of patients with low libido. Another study shows that after treatment with cordyceps, more than one-third of the patients were able to engage in sexual intercourse and more than one-half experienced improvement.

3. Siberian Ginseng
Siberian ginseng helps to decrease the prolactin secretion and to direct nitric oxide-mediated resulting in increased strength, energy, stamina, libido and sexual function. The effect of Siberian ginseng at the level of the anterior pituitary supports the use of ginseng in the treatment of sexual dysfunction.

4. Horney Goat Wort
Horney goat wort contains a number of flavonoids that affect the cortisol levels resulting in a increased sexual desire and hardened penis erection in men.

5.Chinese licorice root
Chinese licorice root is composed of a glycoside called glycyrrhizin helping the production of testosterone and suppressing sexual libido.

6. Dodder seed
Dodder seed is known as a kidney yang tonic and is widely used to treat sexual problems such as impotence, nocturnal emission, and premature ejaculation. It helps to nourish the kidney, boost energy levels as well as helping others symptoms of kidney deficiency such as low back pain, tinnitus, diarrhea, dizziness, and blurred vision.

7. Cinnamon Bark
The sweet and spicy taste of cinnamon bark is considered to have a very hot energy. In Chinese medicine, cinnamon bark increases the Yang energy and sexual vitality. The best cinnamon bark in the world comes from Southeast Asia from trees where the bark is, at its best, almost a half inch thick and over twenty years old.

C. Nutritional Supplements
1. Hormone dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)
DHEA is effective with low levels of testosterone due to age. Study shows that intake of proper amounts of DHEA significantly improves both erectile function and sexual desire in men.

2. L-arginine
L-arginine increases the production of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide relaxes or dilates blood vessels, enabling them to open up and bring more blood to the penis and helping to create an erection. Study shows that Arginine supplementation was found to be particularly effective in improving ED in men with abnormal nitric oxide metabolism.

3. Propionyl-L-Carnitine
Propionyl-L-carnitine together with acetyl-L-carnitine were found to enhance the effective assildenafil. It helps to treat erectile dysfunction by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation resulting in improvement of erectile function, sexual intercourse satisfaction, orgasm, and general sexual well-being.

4. Chrysin
Chrysin is a bioflavonoid that helps to to boost testosterone by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, resulting in less testosterones to be converted into estrogen. Chrysin also helps to promote prostate health, the reason why it is effective in enhancing sex as a healthy prostate is essential for penis erections.

5. Yohimbe bark extract
Yohimbe bark extract comes from the bark of the corynanthe yohimbe tree.It contains ingredients called yohimbe that helps to block the alpha-2-adrenergic nerve activity, which normally constricts the blood vessels resulting in increased blood flow to the penis, helping stronger and harder erection. Study shows that it seems to be as effective as sex and marital therapy for restoring sexual(erection) function.

6. Nettle extract
Nettle extract helps in increasing levels of free testosterone. If testosterone becomes bounded to serum globuline, it will not be available for cell receptor sites thereby failing to stimulate sexual desire and erection.

7. Pepper extract
Pepper extract called piperine helps to enhance chrysin function. Study shows that pepper extract taken together with chrysin reduces the serum estrogen and increases free testosterones significantly in 30 days or less.

There are many other supplements such as garlic, gingko boliba, muira pauma, and ginger root. These can help to increase blood flow to the penis and/or the production of free testosterone.

D. Vitamins and Minerals
1. Vitamin A
The gonads are a combined gland that provide both exocrine and endocrine functions requiring proper amounts of vitamin A to produce gametes that help to maintain our sexual hormones in men and women. It also helps to maintain eyesight, skin membranes, immune function and healthy sperm counts.

2. B complex
B complex helps to increase the levels of testosterone, the fuel of the sex drive in both men and women. It keeps the thyroid, nervous system and adrenal glands content. Vitamin B6 helps to manufacture and maintain our body’s sexual hormones. Improper amounts of B complex in our body may cause either over-producing of testosterone or estrogen resulting in liver cirrhosis, enlarged adrenals, kidney damage and nodules, and hyperplasia.

3. Vitamin C
Recent studies suggest that vitamin C taken with other vitamins helps the L-enantiomer of ascorbine acid to regulate the stress reactivity, anxiety and prolactin release, improves vascular function, as well as increasing oxytocin release. These processes are relevant to sexual behavior and mood. It also keeps our skin smooth and supple, helps prevent miscarriages, keeps sperm from clinging together in immobile clusters, and enables you to enjoy more intense, longer-lasting orgasms.

4. Vitamin E
These hormones regulate men’s sexual desires and erectile function. Vitamin E contains oestrogenic, androgenic that interacts with ovarian hormones and testosterone. If a man’s erectile dysfunction is related to heart disease, vitamin E helps to improve blood vessels of the penis. It also helps the blood to carry more oxygen, nourishes the pituitary gland and keeps testosterone from breaking down in men. Nuts, seeds, whole grains, fruits and vegetables are all good sources for Vitamin E.

5. Minerals salts
Minerals salt are important to our body function in proper amounts. Decrease of sodium chloride causing the decreasing of cellular and blood volume insults in kidney disease. If this kidney problem is left untreated, it will lead to erectile dysfunction.

6. Zinc
Zinc is essential for the production of testosterone. The prostate gland contain high amounts of zinc that helps to regulate prostatic fluids and the production of semen. A zinc deficiency can cause growth failure, infertility, and impotency.

7. Selenium
Helps to increase male potency and sex drive. Selenium deficiency may cause testis atrophy and decreased testicular contents of selenium and glutathione peroxidase.

8. Magnesium and calcium
Calcium is also an important nutrient in sexual functioning. It keeps the link between the brain, hormonal glands, and their mechanical processes active. Magnesium acts as a calcium channel blocker and counteracts the negative effects of calcium in sustaining an erection.
I hope this information will help.

It is considered normal for people to lose 50-100 hairs per day. If you ever lived with someone who has long hair, you are probably well aware of this fact. Hair Loss generally is noticed in one of two ways. With common pattern baldness, the loss is gradual. It can start as early as puberty, or very late in life. Sudden loss of hair, or loss in clumps usually indicates a different problem. This type of symptom could be caused by a number of factors, including hormonal changes, medications, thyroid problems, among others

In male pattern baldness, the hair loss generally is gradual. The hair usually thins out first in the front of the scalp hairline and forehead and moves progressively to the back and top of the head. It tends to be progressive, and in many eventually, only hair around the ears, the sides, and back of the head remains, as an horseshoe-shaped pattern that leaves the crown of the head exposed.

The most obvious hair loss symptom is receding hairline, thinning hair, and hoarse-shaped pattern. While this symptom literally shouts at you, some people don’t catch it until it turns worse. It is important to observe yourself for any changes in your hair structure. For women, balding comes from the crown rather than the hairline. The main hair loss symptom for children is sudden losing of patches of hair from anywhere in the head. Sudden hair loss is also characterized by hair shedding in which patches of hair just fall away. Other hair loss symptoms are dry hair, brittle hair, heavy head and body hair or hairiness, presence of dandruff, and greying of hair.

Hair loss Causes in Male and Female

Iron deficiency: An Iron deficiency can sometimes produces hair loss. Such deficiency can be identified and corrected by medication.

Medication: For some people, prescription drugs can cause a temporary hair shedding. Obviously, if you are taking any prescription drugs whether short term or ongoing then check with your health professional for advice.

Hair loss is a natural part of the body’s process of renewal. As some hair falls out, new growth replaces it. However, this process may be accelerated by a number of conditions. Hormonal changes may contribute to rapid hair loss, such as during pregnancy or childbirth, or even when coming off the Pill. As these fluctuations in hormone levels drop off, the hair loss should clear up, so the condition is only temporary. In a recent study, hormone levels were studied in both male and female patients experiencing severe hair loss. The research points towards a complex interaction between sex and thyroid hormones that may lead to the condition.

Stress is another factor linked to hair loss. While it has not been proved definitively, emotional trauma has been loosely associated with hair loss, but milder strains and worries probably do the same thing. Stresses placed on the body may also cause a woman’s hair to jump ship. For example, crash dieting, in which a woman loses a large amount of weight rapidly, may also cause her to lose her tresses, too. Since stress is often transient, if its cause clears up, the resultant hair loss should disappear as well.

It is generally thought that hair loss is an inheritance from the maternal side; however chances of such an inheritance are 50%. The actual causes of hair loss are varied and may range from anything like exposure to chemicals, poisons and some medical treatments like chemotherapy. Stress is also another reason for hair loss which may include emotional trauma and depression.

As we mentioned in previous articles, infertility is defined as inability of a couple to conceive after 12 months of unprotected sexual intercourse. It effects over 5 millions couple alone in the U. S. and many times more in the world. Because of unawareness of treatments, only 10% seeks help from professional specialist. In this article, we will discuss the psychological causes of infertility.

1. Slimness effect
The obsession with slimness at all cost may interferes the production of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone which not only causes delay or abnormal sperm and eggs development but also interferes with primitive process of natural selection in the brain leading to absence of period as blood redirected to other organs need causing nutrients deficiency.

2. Failure to conceive
Many couple after several tries to conceive but fail or just having a miscarriage, feel dramatic pressure and stress which cause hormone imbalance and interfere with the production of sperm in men and normal cycle in women resulting in increasing the risk of inability to conceive.

3. Stress
Stress interferes with hormone production ( increasing the secretion of adrenaline hormone that suppress the production of progesterone which is necessary for the soften of uterine lining for fertilized egg implantation) increasing the risk of absence of ovulation leading to infertility in women. In men, it causes low sperm count and reduce quality of sperm.

4. Depression
Depression increases the production of certain hormone in the nervous system and the glands leading to hormone imbalance and interferes the normal procedure of menstrual cycles in women and lowering sperm count in men, leading to infertility.

5. Medical problem
Some medication may have side effects leading to nervous tension and the risk of malfunction of some organs in the the body such as hypertension medication has an effect to kidney function, causing psychological problem such as stress and anxiety.

I hope this information will help you understanding more of the causes of infertility in women and men, if you need more information, please visit
http://fertility-infertility.blogspot.com/
For other health article, please visit
http://medicaladvisorjournals.blogspot.com

Candida Albicans symptoms vary, depending on where they occur on your body. And, apart from the more obvious symptoms of Candida Albicans, other symptoms can show up that many folks would not even suspect were anything to do with Candida. So it’s very important to seek medical advice when these symptoms are spotted. The earlier that Candida Albicans is diagnosed, the better are your chances of a cure. The longer you leave things, the deeper the infection will become and the harder to eradicate.

Candida Albicans Symptoms Some of the more obvious symptoms of Candida Albicans are:-

Vagina

inflammation of the vagina / vulva chronic itching thick white discharge painful urination painful intercourse painful menstruation

Mouth

thick white coating on tongue when scraped can reveal fissures in tongue white / yellowish raised spots on tongue and mucous membranes bad breath difficulty / pain when swallowing

Skin

lesions acne rash

Other Symptoms

These are also Candida Albicans symptoms: headaches, migraine, loss of memory, irritability, constant tiredness, depression, food allergies, muscle aches, sore / inflamed joints.

What is Candida Albicans and What Causes It?

It’s actually the name given to a yeast-like fungus which occurs naturally in our bodies, particularly in dark, warm, moist areas. It doesn’t normally cause any problems because it’s kept under control by our bodies’ beneficial bacteria. Sometimes though our good bacteria can’t contain the fungus which ‘overgrows’, causing the infection that we call Candida Albicans, Candida, Thrush, Candidiasis or Yeast Infection.

Some of the ‘triggers’ for an ‘overgrow’ are things like; a lowered immune system, too many antibiotics and / or steroids, hormonal changes (e.g. pregnancy), diabetes, unhealthy diet, ‘soft’ drugs, some medications, oral contraceptives and the wearing of damp, sweaty underwear and sportswear. So you can see that it’s actually these (and other) underlying issues that help to cause your infection.

Candida Albicans Treatment Using Anti-fungal Drugs

Mainstream treatments — prescription and over-the-counter — use topically-applied creams, lotions, liquids, or pessaries depending on the location of the infection. Pills and even injections can also be called for where the Candida Albicans is particularly deep-rooted. These medications are basically anti-fungal drugs designed to fight the Candida Albicans fungus. These normally get rid of the Candida Albicans symptoms within 7 to 14 days. But all too often many sufferers experience recurring symptoms. It is believed that this is because the drugs fight the symptoms and not the root cause(s), and, the Candida Albicans can build-up a resistance to the drugs. Plus, some folks suffer from the negative side-effects of some of these drugs.

A Completely Natural Treatment System

So many people have successfully adopted a wider-ranging, natural treatment regime to permanently cure their Candida. This approach doesn’t use drugs with their potential nasty side-effects, and because there are no drugs, the Candida Albicans can’t build-up a resistance to them. And since it’s a complete holistic treatment system — i.e. including everything from getting rid of the symptoms to lifestyle and diet etc. — they have found that they can achieve fast, permanent cures.

There’s a very popular and very successful natural treatment system that many people around the world have found has given them fast, permanent cures. If you want to see how this system could turn your life around too, go to http://how-to-get-rid-of-a-yeast-infection.blogspot.com and start on your cure in minutes.

A woman is most likely to suffer yeast infection in pregnancy than any other time in their life. This is because yeast infections are very common during pregnancy. The signs of yeast in pregnant women is a white discharge and they start to experience itching and eventually pain and soreness. The most vital thing for a woman to do during this time is to seek medication as early as possible. In the vagina, when there is an imbalance of yeast and acid, the yeast will grow too fast and an infection comes when the quantity of yeast is very high. Pregnancy causes a hormonal imbalance in the body and the women will therefore suffer from the infection. The other general causes of yeast infection are taking of antibiotics, hormones and birth control pills, too much glucose in the blood, sex and others.

Yeast infection in pregnancy is caused by the high amount of sugar secretions in the vagina and the yeast love feeding on sugar and this will in turn lead to multiplication of yeast hence an infection. When the yeast infection is ruled out by a doctor, you can have sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea, chlamydia or bacterial vaginosis which is a bacterial infection of the vagina. If you suspect you have yeast infection in pregnancy, you will visit the doctor and to diagnosis the disease, he will take a swab of the secretions and examine it under a microscope. The examination of the vagina is usually enough to determine a yeast infection. During pregnancy, there are certain medications that you cannot be given because they harm the baby and one such example is diflucan which is an oral pill.
