When you have suffered a miscarriage, it is important to take the time to grieve. While some people may not understand, believing that you are just crying over something you “never had”, the fact remains that your loss is very real and painful. As with any loss, it is important to your emotional well-being to deal with your feelings.

Dealing with anxiety and pregnancy?

I have had anxiety and depression starting when I was about 16 years old. I’m now 21 and still have anxiety. I have to take medication to be able to function normally.
My boyfriend and I are going to start ttc in about 6 months or so. I’m going through and seeing all I need to do in order to be healthy for a pregnancy and am not sure what to do about my anxiety. As far as I’ve researched, anxiety medication is not safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding. (I will also ask my doctor, but am curious what the women who went through this did)
Have you had anxiety before you got pregnant and had to deal with it during pregnancy? What did you do?

How are you dealing with Pregnancy Anxiety?

I am 21 weeks pregnant. My life is generally low stress, I am my own boss and I have a husband who has a great job. I have always been a natural “day dreamer.” I tend to space out and think the worst things can happen.

Now that I’m pregnant, I’m starting to feel like I’m losing my mind. I have strange thoughts and dreams that the baby comes out and isn’t even mine (yea I know…weird) and I am always feeling this “panicky” feeling. Before my 20 week ultrasound I was physically sick, just worried to death that they would find something absolutely awful. The same thing with the heartbeat at 9 weeks.

I’m almost 11 weeks pregnant…I have no one to help me through my problems right now…I think I might need medicine to help treat this problem because I have cried everyday for the past 1 1/2 months. Can someone please tell me what to do…I can go see the ob doctor yet because Im still waiting to be approved for medicaid and my first apt isn’t until the end of the month…I think i might need some medication to help treat this do i go to a regular doctor for this?
I believe the depression is coming about because everyone is wanting me to get an abortion but I’m wanting to keep the baby and I really have no support. I’m 24 about to graduate from college but I might be doing it alone.

I am 16 and have been thinking about my career i would like.

I would like to help teenagers you know like guiding them through awareness and support of : drugs, stress, depression, eating disorders (compulisve too) drinking, pregnancy, bullying, learning etc.

I’d love to open up some sort of suppoer group/centre through this. But what jobs are already out there dealing with these kinds of things?

Has anyone had to deal with depression while TTC and during pregnancy? I’ve been TTC since October 2008 or at least that’s when I stopped taking birth control. My psychiatrist said to stop taking my anti-depressant because it may cause birth defects. Well I’ve been off of the antidepressants since November. I got pregnant in February and had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. I’ve gained almost 30 lbs not from eating more but my guess is from being off of the birth control and the anti-depressant. This is only adding to my depression of loosing a baby! Surprisingly with depression I handled the loss rather well. I cried of course but a week later I was ready to move on and try again.

But for some reason I feel like I’m in a bottomless pit! I need to be back on my medication but I can not while TTC! I feel if I exercise I’ll feel a little better but sitting on the couch reading just seems so much easier! I’ve been coping by reading a lot lately. With my depression I have an over active mind and I can’t help but think about things to the point where it eats me alive.

Dealing With Headaches During Pregnancy

Although we still do not entirely understand headaches one thing that we do know is that two of the commonest types of headache – tension and migraine headaches – are far more commonly seen in women, which suggests that hormones play an important part in the onset of headaches. So, since hormone levels fluctuate wildly during pregnancy, it is no surprise to find that women frequently suffer from headaches at this time.

Headaches are particular common during the early stages of pregnancy and tend to reduce during the second and third trimester as hormone levels begin to settle down. The good news however is that women do not simply have to put up with headaches while they are carrying and there is a  lot which can be done to both prevent and treat them.

Being pregnant can be one of the most happiest moments in life that a woman could ever have. It is a time for new beginnings, a time of change, a season of growth for her and the entire family. Pregnancy and the sweet anticipation of having a baby can really help improve the family’s relationship. The wait for the arrival of the new baby puts the entire family in a good mood of expectation. In the process, the family members feel closer to one another.

During this trying stage of a woman, she constantly feels and experiences different thoughts and feelings about her pregnancy and her baby. Sometimes, she can feel good and bright about life. On some days, she can be so depressed and irritable. This sudden shift of feelings can be considered normal for other women, but it can be disturbing not only on the part of the new mothe but also to the rest of the family if these episodes of sadness go on for long periods of time.

Dealing With Infertility Stress Trauma

There are certain stressors which individually or collectively kickstart the infertility stress engine and should be Confronted, Controlled and Corrected. Critical factors include:

Age.
The first risk factor is age.  Once a woman reaches a certain age, her fertility potential gradually declines.  And believe it or not, it’s at a relatively young age – 30.  That’s not to say that you’ll never get pregnant once you hit this magic marker. That’s far from the truth.  But it does start a stress process for some people.

Insomnia in pregnancy is pretty much common, debilitating around 78% of pregnant women. Despite the fact that the unborn child is out of harm’s way, insomnia in pregnancy can cause unimaginable discomfort for the mother-to-be. It’ll be nine eternities, er, months before you can return to your blissful sleeping habits, so you might very well try to make the most of your situation.
