What if I told you that the growth and development of a child starts not on the first cry but during pregnancy. Pregnant women should start to take care of their children starting from the womb, when the fetus is still few weeks old, since the brain develops during this time. And surprisingly, the best way to make sure the baby will grow healthy is to have a steady intake of fish oil capsules during the entire pregnancy.
For a fetus brain to develop fully, it requires constant supply of DHA Omega 3 Fatty Acids. And since DHA Omega 3 is an essential fatty acid (meaning the body cannot produce it on its own,) you will need an external source to supply the need for it. Fetus, of course depends on the nutrition of the mother. Whatever the mother eats, or takes, goes straight to the fetus via the umbilical cord. Yes, it is not only the food that goes to fetus, but also everything the mother takes including supplements and drugs (and sadly sometimes, even toxic substances). So bottom line is, to have a good foundation for the brain development of your child, include fish oil capsules which contain DHA Omega 3 Fatty Acids in your endless list of maternal supplements.

When it comes to the health of pregnant women and her unborn, omega 3 fatty acids play a vital role. Fish oil for pregnant women is a must after third trimester, as this is the time when unborn baby’s brain develops the most. Only way the fetus can have DHA is through it’s mother; amount of DHA is dependent on how much a to be mother is including in her diet. Fish oil is one of the best sources of essential omega 3 fatty acids. This is the reason why doctors emphasize on its intake during pregnancy.
Best fish oil for pregnant women should be of high quality and should not contain any harmful toxins like lead, mercury, dioxins, etc. On the other hand a bad quality one might affect the unborn, resulting in sleep disorders, behavioral problems, hampering brain and nervous system development.

Studies have shown that it is very important for women to take DHA prenatal supplements during pregnancy. This is because dha has been proven to be beneficial to both the mum and fetus and deficiency in this vital nutrient can be disastrous to both.
To start with, the human brain is 30% dha; hence regular consumption of DHA prenatal supplements have been proven to help the brain of the fetus to from properly. It also helps in the overall development of the baby: it helps the eyes of the baby to develop well and also helps to prevent the baby from developing allergies in the future.

Researchers have known for a long time that the sea holds many great cures and treatments for humans. Some of the compounds made naturally in sea life are not found anywhere on land and have proven to help humans in a number of ways. Now researchers are saying that fish oil that contains omega-3 fatty acids can help people fight depression.
Doctors at the Massachusetts General Hospital who have watched the clinical trials report that they are impressed with the results. These early results should encourage more testing. Since fish oil does not have negative effects, it is a study that can easily be conducted on a wide scale.

I read recently that some doctors recommend taking fish oil during pregnancy. Others do not. There may be certain individuals that should not take the supplement, but in general, it is safe for most people, as long as it is a good brand.
Some of the inexpensive brands on the market are low in quality, because they are low in total omega-3s and low in Docosahexaenoic acid or DHA. The purpose of supplementation is to increase your intake of omega-3s, without increasing your intake of omega-6s.
