Pregnancy is considered to be a fulfillment among woman as it takes them into the stage of motherhood. Pregnancy can be a delicate process and it will require great preparation and caution. An expectant mother should be conscious on many harmful things or activities that may affect the pregnancy. Learning more about it is a responsible thing to do right before the 3rd month of pregnancy or even at very early stage.

Make sure that both parents will have knowledge about do’s and don’ts before, during and after pregnancy to prevent any harm to the mother and baby’s health.Here is the list of the things you must be aware of when wanting to get pregnant.

A couple who enjoys and shares intimate moments during love-making rather than an intercourse will highly help increase the chance of pregnancy.

After making love, the woman should stay lying down for a while to give way for the sperms to reach and swim up to the female cervix.

When following the ovulation process, it is best to have an intercourse at least 2-3 times a week when the ovulation is not predicted and have intercourse at least once a day in the days leading up to the ovulation.

Position can also contribute in helping the sperm cells reach the eggs. The closer to the cervix the greater chance of pregnancy. One of the known position is the ‘Missionary Position’ with a pillow under the woman’s hips, it places the sperm closer to the cervix.

The sperm count will not decrease or affected by the number of intercourse. The concern from refraining the intercourse can lower the possibilities of conceiving.

Wearing briefs for men does not affect or decrease their sperm count. Although, whirlpools and hot baths causes sperm to slow down and reduces the sperm count. If not avoided it can make getting pregnant harder.

It is a false information that cough medicine increase chances of conceiving.

The acidity of the vagina can be affected by douching as it alters the acid levels and washes away the cervical mucus necessary in transporting sperm.

Substances like artificial lubricants, vegetable oils and glycerin can harm and kill sperms.

The pH balance of the vagina can also be affected by vaginal sprays and scented tampons. Maintaining a balanced pH level in the vagina helps get a healthy pregnancy.

Stress, worries, frustration and other negative emotions highly affects the body to prepare for reproduction. Keep a positive atmosphere in the relationship in mind, heart. body and spirit.

Age, diet, physical, mental and emotional condition, lifestyle are factors that will highly affect pregnancy. It is very important to find awareness regarding the matter.
Even though pregnancy often evokes overwhelming joy, it is also a stressful event for most women. For individuals whose fetus is at high risk of developing malformations and other hereditary diseases, the stress is increased. All through pregnancy, physiological and hormonal changes create a totally unique and often uncomfortable experience to a lot of mothers. Added to that, once pregnancy is nearing term, stress may be appreciably increased as anxiousness builds up regarding the end result of the pregnancy, baby care, and lifestyle changes that come right after delivery. Pregnancy is indeed a major stressor that can produce or even unmask depressive tendencies of some women.

* Depression is a mental disorder wherein the affected person presents with depressed mood, loss of interest to virtually anything including pleasure, feelings of low self-worth, disturbed rest, altered appetite, low energy and poor concentration.

* It isapproximated that 15 to 20% of pregnant women have psychological health issues, especially depressive signs or symptoms. Human hormones of pregnancy were once believed to shield females from despression symptoms, but recent findings proved it is not true. Hormones can also set off emotions that can make it more difficult to deal with despression symptoms.

* Most women with depressive symptoms tended to be younger ( less than 25 years old), single, African-American, with less education and have lesser family income. These folks are also more likely to have had prior pregnancies and a history of preterm deliveries and subfertility.

* Depressed expecting women are not properly identified and given sufficient attention. Even worse, a current study has proven that these under-recognized serious depressive indications in pregnant females are known to double the chance of preterm delivery (delivery before 37 weeks of completed gestation). Scientists are looking into the chance that despression symptoms in the course of pregnancy may affect the level of placental hormones, which in turn can trigger early contractions leading to the premature delivery of the fetus. 1

* Besides the risk of preterm delivery, depression during pregnancy could also put the mom and the child’s wellbeing at risk. If you are depressed, you may not eat healthy and balanced meals which your baby needs. You may lose interest in taking care of yourself, that may cause you to miss prenatal check-ups. You may also turn to smoking or drinking alcohol, which are unsafe to the baby.

* Amongst the many untoward effects mentioned between the medical professional and the expecting woman through the prenatal check-up, depression is one point that must not be skipped out. The health care provider and the pregnant woman should share equal responsibility in talking about depression in pregnancy because the earlier despression symptoms is diagnosed and identified, the less complicated it is to treat. Therapy options involve : 1. support from families and good friends 2. counseling which includes talking with family or seeking referral to a counselor 3. self-care guidance by the main care giver paying attention to diet, exercise, and rest.

* Medication is not the first line of remedy for this class of patients, since a lot of antidepressant medicines are teratogenic and can cause fetal malformations and limb defects.

Taking care of oneself when you’re pregnant is just as important as nurturing the baby in your womb.

        Many expectant mothers experience panic attacks. Pregnancy actually tends to make the symptoms more pronounced. The symptoms can be very scary and they tend to cause a lot of unneeded stress. Most future mothers tend to be overly cautious and a little nervous. These two emotions leave them very vulnerable to panic and anxiety.

Women typically start developing panic and anxiety at various stages of pregnancy. The symptoms are most likely to develop either during the initial stages of pregnancy or after their children are born. Then there are the women that have already suffered from panic… the ones with a preexisting condition. These women have a tendency to be negatively affected by panic during pregnancy. Hormonal changes are typically the culprit for these emotions and fears.

There is a blurry line between typical panic symptoms and pregnancy symptoms. Most pregnant women experience symptoms such as headaches, irritability, fatigue, and nausea. Unfortunately these are also symptoms of panic disorders. Pregnancy is extremely stressful… and for many women it’s also a scary time. Women have many emotions and they want everything to turn out okay… it’s at times like these when anxious thoughts can get the best of you… it’s at times like these that you’re the most vulnerable to panic attacks.

If you do nothing about them, panic and anxiety will linger…they do not go away. As you reach the later stages of pregnancy you’ll notice your panic attacks becoming more pronounced and causing more anxiety. Irrational fears of harming your child are very common at this point. Remember, panic will never hurt you… or your baby. Be careful in the later stages of pregnancy… panic and anxiety can get out of control and cause frequent stomach cramps. This type of cramping is often mistaken for contractions.

So what should you do if you have panic attacks during pregnancy?

Mothers that are prone to panic attacks during pregnancy should remain around family and friends and maintain a good support system. They should also have regular checkups… preferably on a weekly basis, as these tend to be reassuring. Fortunately for you panic disorders are fairly easy to control… you do not need to let them affect your lifestyle or your relationships with your family and friends.

You want to stay away from medications for panic attacks. Pregnancy is a good reason to find natural, safe, and effective treatments for panic attacks. There are many options for you that are much healthier and more effective than prescription medications.

Are you concerned that anxiety or panic attacks may be ruining your life?

I used to struggle with anxious thoughts and even had panic attacks alcohol problems.

Here is the reality regarding depressive disorders in females. In the U.S. approximately 15 million people encounter depressive disorders each year. Most of them tend to be ladies. Unfortunately, around 66% of those women do not get the help they require.

Depression symptoms in women is extremely typical. In fact, women tend to be twice as prone to create clinical depression as males. So that as many as 25% will probably experience a chapter of major depression at a point in their lifetimes.

What’s depressive disorders?

Depression is a serious as well as pervasive mood condition. This causes feelings associated with sadness, hopelessness, helplessness, and worthlessness. Depression could be moderate to moderate with symptoms of apathy, small urge for food, trouble sleeping, low self-esteem, as well as low-grade fatigue. Or even it can be main depressive disorders along with symptoms of depressed feeling the majority of the day, reduced interest in daily activities, weight loss or even gain, insomnia or hypersomnia (oversleeping), exhaustion, emotions of guilt just about every day, and recurring ideas of passing away or even committing suicide.

What are the the signs of depression in women?

Symptoms of depressive disorders in women consist of:

* continual unfortunate, nervous, or even “empty” feeling
* loss of interest or pleasure in actions, such as sex
* uneasyness, becoming easily irritated, or excessive sobbing
* emotions associated with guilt, worthlessness, vulnerability, hopelessness, pessimism
* resting an excessive amount of or not enough, early-morning awakening
* appetite and/or weight reduction or eating too much as well as putting on weight
* reduced power, exhaustion, feeling “slowed down”
* thoughts associated with passing away or committing suicide, or committing suicide efforts
* difficulty concentrating, recalling, or even producing choices
* persistent bodily signs and symptoms that don’t respond to treatment, for example head aches, digestive disorders, and persistent pain

Do you know the symptoms of mania in women?

Mania is really a highly raised mood which occasionally happens along with bpd. Moods within bipolar disorder golf swing from the levels of depressive disorders to the highs associated with mania. Despite the fact that mania is definitely an raised feeling, it’s severe and requires medical assessment and treatment.

The actual the signs of mania consist of:

* abnormally raised feeling
* becoming easily irritated
* decreased need for rest
* grandiose ideas
* greatly increased speaking
* rushing ideas
* increased activity, including sexual activity
* markedly increased energy
* bad judgment leading to risk-taking behavior
* improper social behavior

Exactly why is depressive disorders in women more common compared to depressive disorders in men?

Prior to adolescence, the rate of depressive disorders is about the same in girls and boys. Nevertheless, with the oncoming of puberty, a girl’s risk of creating depression increases significantly in order to two times those of kids.

Specialists believe that the increased possibility of depressive disorders in females might be associated with changes in hormone levels which happen throughout a woman’s existence. These modifications are evident throughout puberty, pregnancy, and the menopause in addition to after giving birth, having a hysterectomy, or going through a miscarriage. Additionally, the actual endocrine fluctuations that happen along with every month’s menstrual cycle probably bring about premenstrual syndrome, or even PMS, and premenstrual dysphoric condition, or PMDD — a serious affliction marked particularly by depressive disorders, anxiety, cyclical mood changes, as well as lethargy.

Many of us often look at someone who is depressed as a person who is simply unhappy with their life. It’s important to realize that this is an official, medically documented mental disorder, that not only requires immediate treatment, but which is often out of the sufferer’s control. Being able to recognize depression symptoms and seeking out a cure is a very important start on the road to feeling better. Whether you think you have depression, or might know someone who does; look below for symptoms and warning signs of depression.

Symptoms to look for:

* Sudden and excessive weight loss, or weight gain.
* Depression symptoms often manifest with obvious negative changes in mood or attitude.
* Sufferers will often become anti-social and detach from friends and family.
* Being tired for no reason all the time (I.e., you haven’t done anything taxing, but still don’t feel like being active.)
* Lack of self worth such as: hopelessness, feelings of guilt, pessimism, or like you’re not wanted by friends and family.
* Having an intense desire to cry, but not being able.
* Hallucinations, delusions, thoughts of suicide.

Other Things to Consider

Depression symptoms at their worst typically plague people most of the day, every day, for at least two weeks. Some forms of depression will come and go through the course of our lives. Natural forms of depression include: coping with the loss of a loved one, mood-swings during pregnancy or menstruation, aging, etc. Some things we just can’t control and it’s quite natural that we’ll not feel well and need time to heal.

When depression symptoms linger, action has to be taken in the form of therapy, supplementation (natural or prescription), or getting out and doing more (social and/or physical activities.) For those of you out there who have a history of depression in your family, it’s important to recognize symptoms from their onset and treat them appropriately. Many people feel they have to live with this disorder, when there is often very simple steps each of us can take to prevent anxiety from taking over our lives.

In the start of my pregnancy, it was rough, because it was not expected, and it was hard for my boyfriend to accept. After a few weeks, I was happy about it, and he grew happy too. We went and bought little things here and there. My boyfriend is supportive & now is excited to find out the sex, and is taking part in my prenatal visits, and growing into ‘being a dad’.

Me, on the other hand…..

I have secretly started to feel worse and worse about the pregnancy. I haven’t really told anyone, except mention a little to a close friend. I am filled to the brim with fear and paranoia that because of my past and health issues I will have damaged my child and be a horrible parent… I just feel like everything is a mistake. I feel like I am confused to have my baby. I have thought of abortion, I am pro-choice, but I don’t believe in it for myself. I don’t know how I could live with myself. I have thought of adoption too, but my boyfriend would never agree, and I don’t know how I could live knowing I gave away my kid. I can only imagine how upset my family would be. My family is so happy I am pregnant!

I have done everything right, take my prenatals, go to my visits, eat right, keep informed, stopped cold turkey smoking, drinking and smoking weed, even though it was medical. I changed all my skin care and hair products and house cleaning products to safe organic stuff. I was obsessed with doing everything so perfect and healthy. I felt so happy to ‘be a mom’

I have suffered from depression all my life, on and off and have been on various medications on and off. I also suffer from seasonal depression as well, and some years I took anti-depressants through the fall and winter months . (I had wanted to try the light therapy, but all the side effects are things I already suffer from and to risk having more migraines, nausea, sleeping problems wasn’t worth it to me! + they can be costly)

I have not been taking medication for a while now, and was doing well. I’ve been reading different self help books & I had been going to a therapist & I thought it helped, but it has not I guess. I know some medications are supposedly ‘safe’ for pregnancy, but I don’t want to go that route, I don’t buy it, and do not even like taking the medication for myself in the first place.

Each day is harder. I don’t have any fun when I do anything, I can’t get out of bed. Sometimes I can’t bring myself to even work. Sometimes I sleep 18 hours a day.Sometimes I can’t sleep. I think about dieing, but I know I would never do it, because I really want to Iive, enjoy life and be a Mom! I feel ashamed to feel this way when so many others would be happy to in my shoes. I don’t know what to do….if therapy, reading, and medication isn’t working or not good for me, what am I supposed to do? Is this semi-normal/hormonal thing? Will it just pass?

I just want to be feel happy and bring my baby into the world wanted- with a happy mom.

We’ve been together 10 yrs. and all I’ve ever wanted was to be his wife and year after year and 2 kids later I had to basically beg to get him to ask me. When I told him that I don’t want to do it just because he felt bad for my crying about it and I want it to be something he wants too he said he does but I just don’t believe him. I can’t rely on my feelings and emotions because they are so out of wack right now due to the ridiculously stressful life I’ve subjected myself too, so 1 min he’s awesome and the next I wish I could just pack up and be gone, but it’s never that easy. I do suffer from depression and anxiety and I know I am not an ideal girlfriend but I bend over backwards and do flips for this man something that I rarely see from him. I put him through a lot with my mood swings and just plain ol psychoticness but I feel justified in my bad treatment of him because I feel like I’ve given so much of myself to him and his family without any regard for me and my feelings. In my heart I feel like I will never be his first priority and that his mother and sister will always come first and it makes me so sad and it really hurts to think that we’ve spent so time together and been through so much, I’ve slept in hotels/cars with him for 3 years, had 3 abortions because he told me the pregnancy was my decision and we really can’t afford to have children so I thought I was doing what he wanted me to do,
I wash his clothes,
clean the house,
take care of the kids,
pay the bills (which I have not been doing lately because I don’t know why I just get so stressed)
allow his mother and sister to live with us because they get evicted (3 times now more than 6 months each situation)
becoming more sexual
play taxi (at least twice a week I have to pick either him or his mother up after I just worked a 9 hr shift being up since 4 am and sitting in traffic for hours, the list can go on but I do love this man although I think he can be such an ass because if I complain about doing any of the things listed above then I am not being a team player and I wonder wtf is he talking about because I am the team!!! But on the other hand he is sweet, he used to make me laugh but now I’m always so mad his jokes aren’t funny, I know he is a good man and together we can make things happen but I am really scared that I will not be made a priority and that I will end up hurting myself if I continue to stay I just want some peace and to be able to have our place/space to really grow up I am 27 and he is 29 and neither of us have ever really lived on our own except for our short 6 month breaks when I decided we need to move and get our own. I love his mother and sister but I want them to have their own lives and home and let us raise our family together and stop being so selfish but will I ever really be #1 to him and if we get married will he realize that he is now our family LEADER and take that responsibility seriously or will I continue to be the underdog although I am putting out the most results someone please help me I am at a loss!!!
I put the details because I kind of need to vent also, I feel like an idiot when I try to talk to my friends or family because I don’t want to appear needy, I am currently in therapy to try and make some type of sense of my life and get it on track so I can be more productive for my children. Thank you all for even taking the time to read through all that and giving your advice I really appreciate it alot :0)!!
last addition, the reason I have to play taxi is because he and I are the ones with cars, his mom and sister’s cars were repo’d about 2-3 years ago and they have been relying on us to get around or driving his truck because I won’t let them take my car if it’s not work related.

I miscarried almost 3 months ago but my sadness seems to be getting worse and worse. I am seeing a therapist which I’m sure will help slowly, but I just can’t seem to stop feeling empty and upset. When I get sad I get bad headaches and my stomach starts to hurt (similar to when I get VERY stressed). In addition, I am having horrible nightmares and difficulty sleeping. I am having serious emotional and sexual issues, and my stomach turns when my boyfriend touches any part of my lower abdomen (where the baby was). Is there any way to know if this is still hormones? It just seems like the pain is increasing but I don’t want to go on antidepressants unless I am sure this is all emotional. Thanks.
I miscarried when I was about 19 weeks along if that is relevant.

Hello I have a few questions for all the pain management people or people on this treatment . I have been threw withdwawels without anything but now with the sub I want to know when I should start it, Like how far into withdrawels do I have to be in? Is there a certain amount of hours after my last pill? Because I deffinality dont want to go into the bad withdrawels so what is the first sign or symptom that I should take it.

Also I do have real severe pain and I read that it can help and I also heard that it doesnt what options do I have for my pain that are non narcodic Like some type of shot they give you every few months im not sure what it is called. But I am on a very high dosage of pain meds that is ruining my life and i have been on them for about 9 years since my 1st car accident then my pregnancy led to more and more issues I have 3 herinated discs and motoscolices and rotoscolises I have a son that I can not play with or pick up I even have trouble changing his diaper I can’t get out of bed in the morning Thank god for a great father, I have post partum depression as well.
I would love to hear any type of stories or information on any of the subjects I’m talk about. I can’t wait to start the suboxen but afraid of my pain still being there I want my life back and to be happy and play with my son without having to be on narcodics.
SO MY MAIN QUESTIONS ARE, WHEN SHOULD I START AFTER LAST PILL? WHAT OTHER OPTIONS DO I HAVE FOR MY SEVERE PAIN.

Also I know my doctor is starting me off at 8 mg but how many do they usually prescribe I go every 28 days.
And if the suboxone does not help with my pain will my doctor put me back on my pain meds? As of right now I am taking a very high amount of medication oxydose’msir,perocet 10 mg and diladuid 8 mg only because I have built such a high tolerance because I have been on them so long Even with the amount I am taking I still have pain I am completely fuctional and am not nodding out like I see a lot of people do when they are on these medications so please help me

I have 2 children. One 6 and one 13 months. I’m almost 7 months pregnant and stay at home everyday. I don’t have any friends anymore my stepsister/ best friend quit talking to me b/c she doesn’t like my boyfriend (father of my 3 children) I’m low income and live in a rural area and can’t afford to go out and do much. I would love to get a job, but I can’t afford daycare and rent on minimum wage (that’s all the jobs pay in my area). I used to spend time with my mom but she hasn’t been around much lately b/c my stepdad has aggressive cancer and gets daily treatment and hour away. I just really feel alone lately and don’t know what to do. I have nothing to look forward to. My boyfriend works a lot so I don’t even see him that often. I was being treated for postpartum depression when I got pregnant but had to quit taking med due to pregnancy. And I no longer go to counseling b/c I felt like I wasn’t doing much talking- my counselor mostly chit chatted about her grandkids. I wake up everyday not wanting to get out of bed b/c I know all there is to do is clean. I plan to start school in the fall, but that’s still 3 months away. Has anyone else ever felt like this? What can I do to make things better? .

My husband and I went through a very bad year, and we moved to atlanta for jobs that my sister helped us to get in door. My husband had been unemployed for an extended period of time- limited to no income for 3 years. I had been laid off and underwent treatment for cancer. Between my health and what I see as his struggle with depression we were beyond the boiling point- rock bottom. Moving, a steady income, and a fresh start seemed to be what we needed. Its not that it was perfect over night,but it was moving in the right direction. We were going to move into our own place next week., we have been going ou and there was passion and tenderness. . We are both well educated and though new at our jobs, earn a good joint income right now and have started to rebuild our savings. The night before last he assured me that he loved me and really wanted to be married to me and grow old together… Then yesterday I told him I was pregnant and he told me he wasn’t sure if he really loved me, and wanted me to have an abortion. He basically accused me of trying to trap him with a pregnancy or acted like it was deliberate.I had been told that due to endometriosis and the treatments I had gone through for cancer, it was unlikely that I would conceive with out assistance. We used contraceptives every time we were intimate despite what the doctors told me. We did have broken condemn and I did get pregnant. It is a shock to me too, not some plot. I am afraid of raising a child alone, or bringing a child into the world who isnt wanted by its father. I am afraid of losing my husband, and know men aren’t lining up to step in and date a women with a baby or even a young kid. My heart is broken to hear that my husband doesn’t know if he loves me because despite it all I love him, and that he wants to abort the baby. I am here in a new city with no one to talk to and I don’t know what to do. I called in sick to work and I dont know what to do.

I’ve been sad on and off during the normal PMS time, but not stressed. When I’m stressed I’m worried. This time I was just crying alot for a few days. Someone made me sad. I know stress can throw off your period, but can sadness throw it off too? I usually get it every 27 days and it’s two days late. There’s only VERY MILD cramps – not like the ones I get when I’m about to start.

Additional factors are that my husband and I have been having unprotected sex. Is the delay more likely from sadness or pregnancy? Thanks.

I accidentally got pregnant. I’m against abortion, so that’s not even in the cards. The way I feel right now is that I don’t want an abortion, I don’t want to have the kid, and I don’t want to put it up for adoption. I don’t want it to be my problem, I don’t feel a connection with it, I just feel as if its ruined my life and strained every relationship that I have. Then there’s other times that I’m so incredibly excited and I love it so much and I want to go to Babies R Us and look at all the baby stuff. I feel like an awful and irresponsible mommy-to-be for feeling this way.

Is it possible to suffer from depression during pregnancy or is it just hormones? Is there a name for what I’m feeling? I want this emotional rollercoaster to pass so badly. I want to enjoy my pregnancy and my child, I just can’t right now, and I don’t know why..
