Depression has been proved to be more common with the women. For whatever reason women have always been the victims of depression. A woman has to go through a number of important physical and mental changes. She also has to tackle the gender stereotypes that can be really pinching. She has the additional responsibilities of her home along with her career. All these factors tend to be a burden on her shoulders and they make themselves apparent sometimes in the form of depression. The past of a person also comes back to haunt in the form of depression. A woman often gets into depression because of a haunting or troublesome past.

I’m on Cipralex 20 mg. (Called something else over the world however.)
I heard hormone pills can cause a pregnancy test to show positive. I’ve taken a few tests and it shows positive.I don’t want to have to see my doctor yet (since I just moved and don’t know him) Does anti-depressants count for these hormone pills?
How about Florinef? I’m on that too?

I currently suffer from generalised anxiety disorder and am in my 22nd week of pregnancy. I’m constantly tense and anxious and find it hard to relax. Although I don’t get panick attacks any more & am sleeping well, I am really worried that my anxiety will harm my baby or something might happen because I am so tense.

For about 3 years now, I have on the anti-depressant Lexapro. When I become pregnant, [which we're hoping for soon!] obviously I cannot take the medication anymore, so I was wondering if the depression stays the same, or gets better or worse? If it is worse or the same, what do they use as treatment? Has anyone been through something similar?
I know that I can’t continue the Lexapro for now- I dont plan to.

I am over a week late with most pregancy symptoms (Feeling of nausea, sore back and breasts, insomnia, irritablilty, tiredness, moody etc), I’ve had 3 tests, 2 negative hpt’s and 1 negative blood test, so I’m definitely not pregnant.
What could be wrong with me? I have no idea of what could cause this, except depression.
Any ideas?

I’m just curious if taking depression medication during pregnancy is wise. I’m not pregnant, but when I am, I am scared to go off depression medication because I have severe depression when I’m not on it. I don’t think I could handle 9 months of that.
And how does pregnancy affect those with depression? Anyone?
