Pregnancy is the most beautiful phase in a woman’s life. This is the time when she goes to ocean of feelings. Mood swings is the most common thing in pregnancy because there are so many things which a woman has to face during her pregnancy. Happiness, irritation, pain, responsibility, etc. are few things which she will feel. Along with this she has to take lots of care during the pregnancy. Good food along with proper exercise will make her baby strong and keep her healthy during the phase.

It is very important to stay be active during pregnancy. Normally, doctors also suggest a pregnant lady to do few exercises which are good for the mother as well as the baby. Yoga is something which is preferred at the most during pregnancy. There are lots of benefits that a woman will avail by practicing yoga asanas in pregnancy. But there are few specific exercises only which are good for pregnant women. There are few yoga asanas in pregnancy which can be very hazardous for the baby and the mother. Some of the exercises which a woman should avoid during her pregnancy are mentioned below.

A pregnant woman should avoid exercises with inversion pose in yoga. Exercises like headstands or in this case upward bow are just not for women who are pregnant. Camel pose is very hazardous along with camel pose. Downward dog pose should not be preferred by a woman during her pregnancy.

Yoga asanas in pregnancy should be done very carefully. Balancing is one thing which should be avoided strictly during pregnancy. A tiny misbalance can lead to major complications during the pregnancy. So any exercise which needs balancing is not good during pregnancy. It will increase the risk of falling down or may also lead to miscarriage of the baby.

Yoga asanas in pregnancy should be chosen which are simple to do without much of twisting and turning. Twisting the body is not possible in pregnancy. Experts will also not suggest you exercise which includes lying on the floor. It might hurt the baby in many cases.

These are certain types of yoga asanas in pregnancy which should be avoided. During pregnancy all the exercises are done in standing position only. Also it is important to perform all exercises slowly with proper and deep breathing. Therefore a woman has to be very careful while performing yoga asanas in pregnancy.

I’m 13 weeks pregnant and i have extreme migraines. I’ve always had migraines but since becoming pregnant i get it more often. My OBGYN prescribed me some medications. ON Sunday morning I went to fill my prescription along with my prenatal medication, and the pharmacist was very hesitant about given me the medication. He told me this medication is part of the FDA pregnancy risk Category C. There’s been reports of babies being born with physical abnormalities. Women who’ve taking this medication during their 3rd trimester have had infants who had seizures due to the withdrawal and they get ventilatory depression. He really didnt want me to take the medicine. I didn’t take it. I called my doctor today and he said it was fine. I don’t even know what to do. The medicine contains acetaminophen, butalbital and caffeine.

My family often get’s angry at the situation. I had lost the child 6 months ago. It happend under special circumstances I was with a man much older than me and he became abusive when I got pregnant I had him leave. I chose not to have an abortion like my family wanted. WHen I finally found out that my baby had died at around three months while I continued carrying it for another two my family had grown a little more nostaligic. They had bought many things for the baby. I too had grown excited and experienced many other emotions pregnant mother’s go through. I was worried I lost a lot of weight before my surgery. Once it was over and the pregnancy gone I experienced a deep sadness. I never blamed anyone it just happend but my family thinks I should stop blaming my ex. I try and try to convince them that I don’t blame anyone for this it was god’s will, I was relieved as hard as that is to admit I’m too young to have childredn. I think god understood this. What should I do?

my fiance have been TTC for 9 months, and we decided to give up yesterday. im 6 days late for AF but every HPT i take says negative. i used to rarely have a period, maybe 3 or 4 a year (i think thats pcos? i have cysts in my right ovary) i started having AF every month about 10 months ago. i know i ovulated this month, but for some reason, no AF, no pregnancy symptoms, and negative HPT’s.

my fiance is sad that i dont want to try anymore. but i cant take the heart break of trying and not succeeding. i feel like its my fault we aren’t conceiving. he says its just not our time, but i dont believe it. he’s not the first man i’ve tried with, and i’ve failed with everyone. i get my hopes up, only to have them crushed. i already have depression, which actually went away when we first started trying, up until about 3 months ago when it came back again because we still haven’t gotten pregnant.

im having a hard time because of my depression and i honestly am just about to leave my fiance. i can see it in his eyes that hes upset that we haven’t gotten pregnant and its been so long, but he just smiles and pretends its not bothering him. which hurts even worse because im falling apart. i want him to be honest with me and tell me whats going on in his head, but he just wont.

so i dont know what do do…
i am ovulating every month. i am using ovulation tests and have ovulation symptoms. thats why im so confused about this month because i definitely ovulated but im 6 days late for AF and all HPT’s are negative and i have no symptoms of pregnancy. i have been spotting though.

i talked to my doctor but he says he doesnt think fertility drugs are right for me. im only 21 and he says we havent tried for very long. he will only give it to us if we have been trying for 2 years since we are so young. he delivered me when i was a baby, and hes been my families obgyn for a long time and im afraid of new doctors so changing doctors is NOT an option. i trust him and his judgements.
i am spotting. i have no cramps or anything. no pregnancy symptoms or signs AF is going to arrive. all the pregnancy tests are Negative. i dont have insurance so i cant afford to get a blood test done and we are moving so we have no money right now. are there any clinics that will do a blood test for free or cheap that are in orlando, fl? all the HPT’s ive taken say negative, but im spotting and i ovulated.

what do you think? is it possible that i am but i just dont have enough of the hormone to detect anything or have symptoms? i was told that spotting is a sign of pregnancy.

I HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR A LITTLE MORE THAN A YEAR. OUR MARRIAGE STARTED OFF ON THE WRONG FOOT BECAUSE WE LOST A PREGNANCY THE MOTNTH BEFORE OUR WEDDING. MY NOW WIFE FELL INTO A DEEP DEPRESSION. SHE BECAME COMPLETELY OBSESSED WITH BABIES. AFTER THE MISCARRIAGE THE DOCTOR HAD TOLD HER TO BE CAREFUL AND NOT GET PREGNANT UNTIL AT LEAST A YEAR PASSED FROM THE SURGERY SHE HAD. SHE DID NOT LISTEN CHANGED DOCTORS AND WENT ON FERTILITY DRUGS WITHOUT EVEN LETTING ME IN ON IT. WE HAVE BEEN SEPARATED MANY TIMES BUT GET BACK TOGETHER MOSTLY BECAUSE I FEEL PRESSURED AND BLACKMAILED. AND TO ADD TO THIS SHE HAS BEEN PUTTING ON POUNDS SINCE WE GOT BACK FROM OUR HONEYMOON AND CONTINUES TO MAKE HERSELF LESS ATTRACTIVE, NOT ONLY PHYSICALLY BUT AS A PERSON FOR ME. I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW SHE IS TWO MONTHS ALONG IN A PREGNANCY THAT I AM NOT READY FOR AND DOUBT SHE IS. SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE BEING CAREFUL(USING BIRTH CONTROL) BUT CONTRARY TO THIS SHE WENT ON FERTILITY TREATMENTS BEHIND MY BACK. NOW I’M TRAPPED.

We’ve been together 10 yrs. and all I’ve ever wanted was to be his wife and year after year and 2 kids later I had to basically beg to get him to ask me. When I told him that I don’t want to do it just because he felt bad for my crying about it and I want it to be something he wants too he said he does but I just don’t believe him. I can’t rely on my feelings and emotions because they are so out of wack right now due to the ridiculously stressful life I’ve subjected myself too, so 1 min he’s awesome and the next I wish I could just pack up and be gone, but it’s never that easy. I do suffer from depression and anxiety and I know I am not an ideal girlfriend but I bend over backwards and do flips for this man something that I rarely see from him. I put him through a lot with my mood swings and just plain ol psychoticness but I feel justified in my bad treatment of him because I feel like I’ve given so much of myself to him and his family without any regard for me and my feelings. In my heart I feel like I will never be his first priority and that his mother and sister will always come first and it makes me so sad and it really hurts to think that we’ve spent so time together and been through so much, I’ve slept in hotels/cars with him for 3 years, had 3 abortions because he told me the pregnancy was my decision and we really can’t afford to have children so I thought I was doing what he wanted me to do,
I wash his clothes,
clean the house,
take care of the kids,
pay the bills (which I have not been doing lately because I don’t know why I just get so stressed)
allow his mother and sister to live with us because they get evicted (3 times now more than 6 months each situation)
becoming more sexual
play taxi (at least twice a week I have to pick either him or his mother up after I just worked a 9 hr shift being up since 4 am and sitting in traffic for hours, the list can go on but I do love this man although I think he can be such an ass because if I complain about doing any of the things listed above then I am not being a team player and I wonder wtf is he talking about because I am the team!!! But on the other hand he is sweet, he used to make me laugh but now I’m always so mad his jokes aren’t funny, I know he is a good man and together we can make things happen but I am really scared that I will not be made a priority and that I will end up hurting myself if I continue to stay I just want some peace and to be able to have our place/space to really grow up I am 27 and he is 29 and neither of us have ever really lived on our own except for our short 6 month breaks when I decided we need to move and get our own. I love his mother and sister but I want them to have their own lives and home and let us raise our family together and stop being so selfish but will I ever really be #1 to him and if we get married will he realize that he is now our family LEADER and take that responsibility seriously or will I continue to be the underdog although I am putting out the most results someone please help me I am at a loss!!!
I put the details because I kind of need to vent also, I feel like an idiot when I try to talk to my friends or family because I don’t want to appear needy, I am currently in therapy to try and make some type of sense of my life and get it on track so I can be more productive for my children. Thank you all for even taking the time to read through all that and giving your advice I really appreciate it alot :0)!!
last addition, the reason I have to play taxi is because he and I are the ones with cars, his mom and sister’s cars were repo’d about 2-3 years ago and they have been relying on us to get around or driving his truck because I won’t let them take my car if it’s not work related.

I have quite a story to tell you. Read carefully. My mother and father live with each each other as well as me in the same house. Yet my mother has long-term depression and is on almost every anti psychotic, anti depressant thats on the market. Trust me I am a pharmacy technician, interestingly enough. Basically when she was young she had a miscarriage, was raped, parents left her for her “husband”, and she cant seem to move on from the past. The perfect candidate for a depressant according to the books. Now my mother and father are divorced but they have been living together for past 20 years. Its very complicated I know, sorry. She has been getting bad suicidal tendencies, last night she was about to Overdose on her medications, because she could take “life” anymore. Suicidal thoughts are more recurring than ever before. I thought about signing her to a facility for a vacation from work etc. But I don’t think there is an answer to this except live with it, what do you think? Thanks.

I miscarried four years ago and I still feel guilty and depressed about it every day. I’m begining to think it’s time to get help. I have two other children to think abotu and I still think abotu the one I lost. It has gotten to the point where I get aggitated easily, I have trouble sleeping, and I feel that because I lost a child, I don’t deserve the two children I do have. Another thing, after I had my youngest I had severe Post Partum Depression. I stopped taking my meds cold turkey when she was abotu 9 months old. She’ll be two next month. I’m wondering if I could still be suffering from PPD or if it’s deeper than that. I know I need to get back to the doctor and I will as soon as possible. I just wanted to get some opinions first.

Before I got pregnant, I was going through a very bad time of about 3 months. I was diagnosed with clinical depression and was taking anti depressants. At my lowest point I ended up in hospital after attempting to commit suicide.
Well I think me getting pregnant was my answer from God, and I am just so much better now. I stopped the medication as soon as I found out that I was pregnant and have been absolutely healthy during my pregnancy.
The thing is during the time I was depressed, a lot of my so called ‘friends’ left me to deal with things on my own. Now that I am pregnant, some of them haven’t even bothered to congratulate me.

It hurts, because I always stuck with them during their bad times, and I was always a really outgoing person so when depression struck, I really needed support, which from most of my friends I did not get.

One who knows I am pregnant, started saying to me I’m worried for your baby because you weren’t 100% and you ended up in hospital. I think – what does she think? That I would hurt my baby? I would never dream of that. I told her that I know everything will be fine, and that I am so happy now – everything is going right for me, and she said perhaps when the baby is born your depression will come back.
She got me worried, like thinking she would report me or something and try and get my baby taken from me, because of when I was ill in the past.

What are your opinions? Please be considerate, this was not easy to write.

Thanks

Hello I have a few questions for all the pain management people or people on this treatment . I have been threw withdwawels without anything but now with the sub I want to know when I should start it, Like how far into withdrawels do I have to be in? Is there a certain amount of hours after my last pill? Because I deffinality dont want to go into the bad withdrawels so what is the first sign or symptom that I should take it.

Also I do have real severe pain and I read that it can help and I also heard that it doesnt what options do I have for my pain that are non narcodic Like some type of shot they give you every few months im not sure what it is called. But I am on a very high dosage of pain meds that is ruining my life and i have been on them for about 9 years since my 1st car accident then my pregnancy led to more and more issues I have 3 herinated discs and motoscolices and rotoscolises I have a son that I can not play with or pick up I even have trouble changing his diaper I can’t get out of bed in the morning Thank god for a great father, I have post partum depression as well.
I would love to hear any type of stories or information on any of the subjects I’m talk about. I can’t wait to start the suboxen but afraid of my pain still being there I want my life back and to be happy and play with my son without having to be on narcodics.
SO MY MAIN QUESTIONS ARE, WHEN SHOULD I START AFTER LAST PILL? WHAT OTHER OPTIONS DO I HAVE FOR MY SEVERE PAIN.

Also I know my doctor is starting me off at 8 mg but how many do they usually prescribe I go every 28 days.
And if the suboxone does not help with my pain will my doctor put me back on my pain meds? As of right now I am taking a very high amount of medication oxydose’msir, perocet 10 mg and diladuid 8 mg only because I have built such a high tolerance because I have been on them so long Even with the amount I am taking I still have pain I am completely fuctional and am not nodding out like I see a lot of people do when they are on these medications so please help me

Last week I lost my baby @ 8 wks into my pregnancy. This was my 1st pregnancy, and although it was unplanned, I was thrilled. This has been a very trying year for my husband & I both–we’re both cops & deal w/ a lot of stress. Just before I found out I was pregnant, my husband was involved in a shooting @ work. At the same time, I got assigned to a dangerous narcotics task force and started working crazy hours in really bad areas. I’ve always been able to handle stress pretty well, but losing this baby has crushed me. I know I have to go back to work, but I feel paralyzed by grief. I’m also still trying to cope with the constant fear for my husband’s safety that his shooting has generated. I’ve always been against taking meds, but I gotta find a way to get out of bed and go on. I’m seeking therapy, but I know that takes time, and I’m feeling pressured to get back to work. Just looking for anyone w/ friendly advice or personal experience that might help me decide…

Breastfeeding : alarm signals a nursing mother should recognize

Breastfeeding is a very natural and the healthiest choice both for mother and baby. Most of the times, breastfeeding goes well and both mother and baby are happy. Let us review the alarm signals that may be suggesting that the breastfeeding process might not be going all well.

First, a baby that is always crying may be a sign that there is something wrong. A baby who sleeps and wakes-up for feedings is a sign that the breast milk he is receiving is satisfying. A better who also does not wet 5 to 6 diapers per day might not be receiving all the milk he needs. One has to be careful nowadays as the newer diapers are very absorbent and it can be sometimes hard to see if it is wet or not.

A baby who is not gaining weight may be a sign that the breast milk is not satisfying his needs. There is a normal weight loss during the first 7 to 10 days of life but usually this weight loss is no more than 10% of the baby’s birth weight.

A baby that is highly jaundiced or has a faint cry is also a sign that something might not be right. In doubt, parents should always consult their physician.

A baby who also gets really upset when trying to latch-on the breast or only feeds for a couple of minutes and then fall asleep tired are signs that should raise a flag.

On the mother’s side, there are also alarm signs she should be aware of. A mother who is running a high fever or have increasing breast tenderness should consult her doctor. A nursing mother who is crying a lot or feels very sad should also ask for the proper help.

Another alarm sign breastfeeding mothers should know about is if they are in a non-supportive environment and receiving very negative messages about nursing. One has to acknowledge that not everyone will be supportive of breastfeeding and this could greatly undermine the overall breastfeeding experience.

In cases where a mother feels unsupported in her choice of breastfeeding her baby she can get the necessary support by joining a group for breastfeeding mothers. There are numerous forums on the internet where nursing mothers get together and exchange about their experiences.

Another very important step if a nursing mother does not feel supported while breastfeeding is to openly talk to her spouse or family about her feelings. Sometimes, a simple discussion will clear the air and the mother can feel understood and supported in her breastfeeding choice.

In the case of a woman who has undergone breast reduction surgery, she may try to breastfeed. Her milk production will depend on how the procedure was done. Many women have been able to breastfeed after such surgeries.

The only way to really know if the breasts can produce sufficient milk is to start nursing the baby. One has to know that the significant milk production usually starts on the second to the third day after birth. Just like for most other maternal tasks, patience is always recommended,

You may score a perfect 10 on a health measuring scale but you will be surprised to know that there are high chances that you might be deficient in the omega 3 fatty acids. These fats are required for normal growth and development of our body. Since they cannot be produce by our body internally, we have to take them explicitly. This is the reason it is often recommended to include essential fish oils in the daily diet regimen.

Let us understand the composition of essential fish oils and their benefits for our health.

Fish is a rich source of DHA and EPA type of omega 3 fatty acids. And so are the supplements containing oil extracted from healthy and oily fish.

Both DHA and EPA are readily absorbed by our body and have significant contribution in maintaining good health. Studies have proved that approx. 40% of human brain (controller of body) is made up of DHA. Deficiency of DHA along with EPA results in various neurobehavioral issues like frequent mood swings, depression, anxiety, etc. If the levels these fats are too in the blood stream it can result in ADHD, ADD, Autism, Bipolar disorder, Dyslexia, etc

Rich DHA and EPA diet helps in keeping heart healthy. Their blood thinning properties inhibits plaque to build on arterial walls thus protects us from strokes. They also reduce the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides; the main reason of clogged arteries and hence reduce the risk to heart attacks. They are very effective in diseases like hypertension and diabetics.

These essential fats are known for their anti-inflammatory properties i.e. their consumption can regulate body’s inflammation cycle and can reduce the inflammation and pain. Thus are very helpful in situations like arthritis, psoriasis, cystitis, etc.

These fats are of great help during pregnancy – they reduce the chances of cesarean, miscarriage, premature births and low birth weights. They are also used in weight loss programs, achieving a radiant and acne free skin.

So there you have it, few facts on essential fish oils – its constitution and its benefits. Your next logical step; start on an effective supplement immediately. Word of caution here, not all products available in the market are effective, so first you have to do some research on the internet to select a high quality supplement before you start on it.

One of the main benefits of fish oil supplements is omega-3 fatty acid. According to studies, this particular acid reduces a number of health risks such as heart disease, high blood pressure and even cancer. Some experts say that even other organs and tissues also reap the benefits of fish oil based supplements.

Fish based oil also helps in the development of brain tissues during the fetal stages. During this stage of development, fish oil can also contribute to the health of retina and also reduce muscular degeneration. Fish based oil also prevents serious pregnancy complications such as premature labor and low birth weight and regular intake of fish oil supplements during pregnancy could help prevent port partum depression.

For adults, omega-3 improves memory, focus and reasoning. You could say that one of the benefits of fish oil supplements is it helps keep your mind young and healthy. On the other hand, children suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) will also benefit by having their psychiatric disorder reduced thanks to fish based oil.

A number of benefits of fish based oil supplements can be seen by studying Greenland Eskimos, a community known to have a diet consisting mainly of fish. There have never been any significant depression rates reported from Greenland Eskimos. The Japanese are also fond of fish, and they have a very low depression rate, especially when compared to their Western counterparts.

Besides lowering the risk of depression, fish oil based supplements also help prevent other psychological illnesses. According to University of Sheffield’s Psychiatry Department, omega-3 may help alleviate bipolar disorder and even psychosis.

Perhaps the biggest reason why fish based oil supplements have become popular in the Western world is because it is said to reduce heart diseases and heart-related illnesses. Studies have shown a large number of Americans have heart illnesses. The biggest benefits of fish based oil supplements are its ability to reduce triglyceride levels in the body.

Triglyceride is a type of fat commonly attributed to heart disease. Fish based oil reduces triglyceride which helps in the prevention of heart attacks, irregular heart beat and stroke. Taking fish oil based supplements regularly also lowers blood pressure.

Aside from the omega-3 fatty acid, there are two more types of acid found in fish based oil supplements that provides benefits to the body’s health. These acids are: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

EPA is believed to posses anti-inflammatory properties. The anti-inflammatory agents found in fish oil supplements may reduce painful conditions such as arthritis.

Some studies also suggest that omega-3 can help in the prevention of cancer, particularly breast, colon and prostate cancer. The omega-3 fatty acids stop healthy cells from mutating into cancer cells while causing cancer cells to die.

Of course a lot of people remain skeptic of the benefits of fish oil supplements and chalk it up as another type of alternative medicine. While some studies are still being conducted to either prove or disprove some claims of fish oil’s health boosting properties, many scientific studies have already concluded that a diet rich in fish is good for the body.

Rajagopalan has learned early in life the critical importance of omega 3 supplements to minimize health risks and maximize healthy living. There are too many fish oil supplements in the market that he has found to be very expensive, they do not deliver on results and are pure hype. To learn about the product that he has finally found to be most effective but at the same time least expensive, head over to ==> http://www.omega3fishoilsguide.com

The aches and pains brought by pregnancy are well worth it after seeing your new born child, but with today’s new innovations in physical and massage therapy, pregnant mothers no longer have to bear the physical downside of carrying a baby. Generally, pregnant women experience sore backs, swollen ankles, and morning sickness. Fortunately, many massage clinics in Tampa, Lutz, Carrolwood, and Wesley Chapel recognize the need for a specialized treatment for expectant mothers. Clinics now offer these massages that come in different variations, depending on where the mother is in her pregnancy. This trend all over the US is a probable answer to people’s higher value for a healthy life. Recent studies from the University of Georgia have encouraged prenatal or pregnancy massages because it has crucial benefits for the mother and the baby during the pregnancy and at childbirth. Pregnancy and prenatal massages provided by clinics all over Florida are now gaining more and more patrons because positive effects can be observed through the mother.

Dr. Tiffany Field of the University of Miami School of Medicine stated that the series of soothing touches experienced by the mother adds to her physical and emotional well-being since she is in the process of adapting to her new body image. Thus, pregnant women experienced less morning sickness and mood swings after undergoing such a therapy because it helped stabilize their hormone levels. Headaches are also less frequent and the usual soreness on their backs have died down.

But how is this special massage done exactly? Well, an initial requirement for anyone who wishes to get a massage during pregnancy, is clearance from their doctor, especially for high-risk pregnancies. Specific positions are only allowed for this therapy and certain areas are restricted to avoid any complications. Clinics who offer this service have specialized beds that can be adjusted to certain angles in to keep the woman more comfortable. Lying on her stomach is, of course, a no no. During a pregnancy massage, the mother could either be positioned sitting up, with her knees on the floor (support with cushion) and her chest and arms resting on a low bed. She could lie on her side with a few pillows supporting her hips and back. Again, it all depends on where she is in her pregnancy.

Special attention is given on her back, head, and feet because these are the common areas that experience pain and soreness. Some clinics couple this massage with aroma therapy, as long as it has a go signal from the doctor. Mild lotions and oils are also used for this treatment.

Mothers-to-be should take caution not to get this treatment if she has diabetes, or has experienced mild bleeding, abdominal pain, preeclampsia, fever, or unusual pain. Skin rashes, open sores, and varicose veins are also to be left alone during the massage.

Setting appointments for a prenatal or pregnancy massage sometimes has a prerequisite of a visit to your obstetrician for added precaution. This is because other symptoms of pregnancy like vomiting and nausea may be signs of complication and getting this treatment may worsen your condition. An important thing to remember is to not mistake this massage for reflexology or deep tissue massages. So make sure to know the services offered by the spa or clinic to avoid premature labor or any other accidents.

Check out other services offered by your nearest spa or clinic such as sports massage, Swedish massage, trigger point, hot stone massage, and geriatric massage. Call to set an appointment and feel the soothing relief of a good massage.
