The effects of different emotions on an unborn child?
I am wondering what the effects are on an unborn baby when you go through so many different emotions. Does the baby feel what you are feeling at the time such as sadness or bliss? What are the potential long term effects to a baby once it is born if the mother has had depression throughout her pregnancy?

hun i am having some serious depression right nwo between the crap my baby father is putting me thru…a new move not being able to find work and just the general pregnancy emotions….i cry more then 5 times a day…my doctor says taht the baby is ok…talk to ur baby and try and calm urself down..if ur only crying and not hyperventilating or causing serious strain on urself like making urself throw up from crying so much then the baby is ok ….my doctor told me to talk to the baby and tell the baby that mommy is fine shes just upset about some things but not to worry…just talk calmly to ur baby….my baby so far seems to be fine and i am 20 weeks…my baby is very active and reacts to my voice whne i talk and sing to it…just try and take warm baths and soothing tea…and remember becoming a mom is the greatest gift in the world….who cares about anything else going on in ur life…be soo happy that ur bringing that little life into this world..taht manages to work for me…good luck and if u need anyone to talk to u can reach me thru email on here and i will give u my IM’s
good luck and congrats
My mom always tells me not to stress because the baby can feel what I feel. Not sure how true it is, but I guess if your stressing it does take it’s toll on your body which can affect your baby.
